Actually, no, I love watching him play. I'm 5'11", so not a dwarf, but I love the little midfield magicians.

I do too, and at 5'8 I root for the midgets, but still I have to wonder if the price tag that's been slapped on him is really accurate.

Very true, but I've sort of grown to ignore transfer fees. I honestly can't understand the valuation process and no longer have any desire to haha

No.

I do.
He only had 4 goals and 6 assists in 36 appearances last year in EPL.

Chelsea offered £40 million last summer. He still has 4 or 5 years left on his deal. Why should spurs accept a €27 million bid just because it came from Real Madrid?
Modric shouldn't have signed a long term deal if he wasn't willing to play it out. I'm just hoping this saga ends soon otherwise he will be joining tevez, Suarez, every French player ever( besides Henry and Zidane) and Downing on my shite list.
Also, I don't believe he's overrated. He's probably worth the €27 million offered but he's tied down long term and levy is notirious for playing hardball. Tottenham are in a position where they don't have to sell, why not hold out for greater than market value?

Stats don't mean much really. He impacts a match just as much as an RVP goal or Silva assist.

He dictates the tempo of the game. Something a certain Xavi is known for. Plus Spuds never really pushed him up the field much either.

I don't think he's worth the kind of money that is being talked about. I think he's a very good player.
I sill don't understand why he'd want to go to that crowded midfield at RM.
Even for what RM wants to pay, THFC should cash in an add a couple of very good players. Even replacing him for just Moutinho is a win/win.

You've been on this board long enough to know that stats mean nothing. 50 square passes = 2 goals.

No. I used to because I remember the $40 million transfer offer and thought there was no way he was worth that. Also, I really like and prefered Gareth Bale.
Then, I watched Luka at the EUROS and was blown away. He definitely made a case to be on the all-EURO XI. His play was brilliant.

I agree but at the same time that team was completely built around him being the focal point of the attack. I know that players almost always want to go the biggest club but in my opinion he may excel more at Tottenham under AVB than being part of the crowd at Real Madrid.

Seems that the soap opera, including last minute phone calls from Buffon, has finally ended and Mattia Destro has signed a 5 year deal with Roma.
Also: Palermo signed class of '93 Argentinian forward Paulo Dybala paying apprx €12 million to Cordoba. Anyone know much about him? Must be a sought after prospect for Palermo to pay that fee,

Nope. Some agent induced transfer fee inflation induction must be going on (remember Brasil years ago?), as Argentina has placed a certain Araujo on loan with Barcelona today as well.
He is supposedly a second striker, a fixture on all the little boy national sides, and the next great hope for Boca Juniors.
ETA Sergio Araujo
