Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Costa Rica international goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Levante. A statement on Los Blancos’ official website has revealed the transfer with AS reporting Navas will be presented as a Madrid player on Monday afternoon. It’s claimed by AS that Navas has signed a six-year deal at Santiago Bernabeu and it was previously reported that Navas was to cost €10m.

Considering the ownership, I would imagine NYCFC will pay as much as possible.
I imagine this mainly has to do with the domestic player requirements.
Gotta keep busting through the FFP glass ceiling. Such horseshite.

Arsene Wenger is worried Manchester City's policy of buying up clubs around the world could see them side-step financial fair-play regulations.

But Wenger, who has always been a staunch advocate of financial fair play, believes the move could benefit City at the expense of Arsenal and their fellow title rivals.
"It is a surprise," he said when asked about Lampard's loan move. "After the statements we hear it is a surprise but it looks like all of these 'City' clubs will feed the main club Man City -- I heard they want to buy five clubs all over the world.
"I don't know the rules well enough but they brought a franchise for $100 million to play in the States to play next season.
quote:
"At the moment the players they sign cannot play until next year so they will register them in the clubs where they put them and they can get out on loan.
"Is it a way to get around the fair play? I don't know -- We are happy to dedicate the money to just run our club -- there is not a lot of surplus to run other clubs."

We are hearing Sunderland are in pole position to land Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is desperate to bolster his squad ahead of the new season and is determined to win the race for Rodwell's signature. Rodwell is well down the pecking order at City and they are thought to be willing to let the former Everton man leave the Etihad Stadium.

UEFA say there's 'no (FFP) issue' with Man City bringing Lampard in on-loan from New York City FC - follows on from Wenger's comments

There could be an issue if City weren't paying Lampard's wages and letting NYC FC foot the bill but City insist that's not the case
From BBC

Manchester City will pay all of Frank Lampard's wages during his loan spell with the club

Sunderland have agreed a deal for Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell, Goal understands.
The Black Cats are expected to tie up the move in a package worth more than £10 million, taking the 23-year-old to the Stadium of Light.
Sky reporting that Rodwell is at the Sunderland training facility.

Looks like the Celtic move for Jeff Louis is official. 2.5 mill Euros.
ETA: Now there's a rumour that Standard are also in negotiations with him. Weird.
So Madrid is sticking with separate keepers for the league and cups?

Going to City on that big money move def derailed his career. He was never going to play with that squad.

Happened to a lot of young promising English players at both Chelsea and City. Sinclair and Richards probably need to move as well, though I'm not sure if they can seeing as Man City is bare-thin in the homegrown department.

Milner wants out too, but for the reasons you mention... he may not get to go.. at least he plays more than the others..

He said his playing time this year will determine if he signs a new deal. City won't sell him b/c of home grown reqs but he is a good as gone on a free next year.

I imagine Milner doesn't want to be a sub any longer but that he's probably where he tops out as a player. He's good at a lot of things but not great at anything.
The market for good or even decent English players is so small that their value is going to continue to increase. It's hard to find quality to fill the homegrown slots.
