I would guess Ream being on squad means we will do a 5-man backline in at least one of the matches

At the very least, it gives us the option to switch to it at some point.

Richards hasn't really been playing and could be about to move.

I think Ream is just a good locker room guy that brings a lot of experience which this group lacks, but I don’t expect him to get much if any playing time

Miazga just joined a new club.

right but this is WCQ, not a friendly. other nations have call ups with players in pending negotiations and trans. think gregg just doesnt rate him.

If Miazga was a locked in XI guy, then yeah he would be here (like McKennie & Sargent are despite their club situations), but he's pretty much a fringe 23 guy, so it's better off that he fit in with his new club and then maybe work his way towards a call up in October & November.

Let's be real here, Zimmerman > Miazga and Sands is more versatile than Miazga. Basically, you could make the argument that Miazga doesn't belong on the squad even without his club situation.

Who would be on here if fit?
Long?
Musah?
Hoppe?

Maybe all 3 but Musah for damn sure

I’m good with the selections. To me, the midfield is where we could see evolution throughout WCQ. I like Roldan and Lletget and what they bring, but I also think a lot of De La Torre, Williamson, and Julian Green, and I think they could be better options when in good form.

One other thing on Yunus Musah. I'm told USMNT assistant and Valencian Nico Estevez personally visited the club's training ground to chat with Musah, check in on him and speak to the club recently.

Both USSF and VCF being cautious in recovery from ankle injury.

Gregg Berhalter says it's still not clear when Christian Pulisic will be available for the September World Cup qualifiers.

Pulisic has been called into #USMNT camp, but is still going through COVID-19 protocols.

We say that everytime, and he ends up starting anyways

Deandre yedlin the grizzled veteran of the group with 64 caps. Our talent pool is so young right now.

I don’t think the phrase, “I expect Tim Ream to play a part,” has ever been uttered on this board, but we all know Greg’s putting him out there.

So do we know who else will be “in camp” even though they’re not on the roster?
