Our transfer policy shouldn't be getting cast-offs from big teams, or overpaying for players by virtue of their resume, i.e. Mustafi's WC medal.
We really need a consistent approach, at all levels, in terms of who to target. Xhaka and Torreria were good buys in the sense that they were forward-thinking, though I can't for the life of me not wonder how Wenger thought he was going to accommodate Xhaka with the other midfielders in the squad.

Some stats from Premier League's website.
Big chances missed, 2018-19:
Auba: 20
Vardy: 17
Salah: 16
Kane: 11
Auba's missed a bunch this year, but he also gets into spots no one else does. For example, last year, Salah missed 23 big chances, and Kane missed 18. Auba missed six after coming in in January.
Look at conversion rate.
Auba: 20 goals on 82 shots (24%)
Salah: 22 goals on 128 shots (17%)
Aguero: 20 goals on 112 shots (18%)
Kane: 17 goals on 102 shots (17%)
Hazard: 16 goals on 90 shots (18%)
Laca: 13 goals on 74 shots (18%)
We also lead the league in conversion rate. The problem is we aren't creating enough chances or shooting enough. We're 8th in shot attempts but 3rd in goals.
We desperately need a winger or attacking mid who can carry the ball and beat people inside or down the line. We have a bunch of passers and no ball carriers.

I loved Wilshire and Santi moving the ball forward from the center. We miss that.

Van de Beek is worth our whole transfer budget. He's unbelievable.
God what I wouldn't do for Ajax's and in fact the entire Netherlands youth system, either at Arsenal or for the US. They produced such amazing players. It's their spacing off the ball which allows the ball carrier to have seemingly endless options.

Spoke too soon, but they still have great players to get this far.
Without smart moves, still think we can win Europa, Arsenal will be right back after finishing 5th or 6th.
I'm not as confident after these cl games, but Valencia has only scored 46 goals in la Liga. That only bests the bottom 7 teams in the EPL.
