Highly-rated Arsenal & England youth winger Xavier Amaechi has joined Hamburg. 18yo rejected new contract + numerous suitors to sign 4yr deal today. Fee over €2.5m + performance-related add-ons. No buy-back but #AFC have sell-on clause. Will wear 17 & be a 1st team regular #HSV

He was supposed to be pretty good. No clue what happened to him.

Pretty dominant 1st half in the opening match of the Emirates cup. Mikky looked good as well.
Not a very strong start in the 2nd from Arsenal.
Very poor marking on Lyon's goal. AMN didn't close down the cross, nonexistent marking in the box lets in a wide open header.
Arsenal have the go ahead 2nd goal disallowed for whatever reason, they haven't said yet. Literally right after they give up the 2nd to Lyon, shite defending yet again.

dig our attacking options ( Nielson, Nketiah, and willock showing great promise, love their energy)
but arsenal is cursed, 1 minute they scored a goal which is disallowed with no reason give...next minute they give up a goal (sokratis calling for offsides after his man beat him)
still need to get better playing from the back, lyon stacked the 18 daring arsenal to kick deep, not a secret that we struggle(second goal was a result of pressure from back)
inconsistent

Apparently Sami Khedira was at the match today. Would take him in a heartbeat.

Arsenal are on course to confirm the €80m club-record signing of Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe from Lille later this week. The 24-year-old winger/forward has arrived in London & will undergo a medical today before signing a five-year contract at the Emirates #AFC #LOSC

Arsenal in talks with number of clubs over Shkodran Mustafi exit. 27yo (contract until 2021) wants to stay + prove himself. But #AFC want permanent or loan departure. Also hope to bolster central defence pre-deadline & retain interest in Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney #CelticFC

Arsenal technical director Edu met with the Stade Rennes president + the representative of Laurent Koscielny in London yesterday. Talks between #AFC & suitors continue in a bid to resolve Koscielny’s future. The 33yo captain does not anticipate playing for the Gunners again #SRFC

Feel like that is a lot of money for Pepe but I love the board's ambition this window

It is a shite ton, but worth it. I think we are only giving like a 3rd of that up front. If he works out, he can be sold for more than that. Much rather this than Zaha.
I guess some crow needs to be had, still could get Tierney over the line and I guess maybe a cb if they are letting kosc and mustafi go. Even without a cb we addressed way more positions than I thought was possible.

So Arsenal could be getting rid of 2 center backs? How many defenders are coming in? I'm now even more worried about the defense.

I really did like Mustafi when he came in and for the first half of his year.... but he needs to be sold. If we could get Mustafi & Kosc off our books and get a combo of 1 older CB, 1 young CB, then we will be set.

Still a possibility of getting someone on loan as a stop gap for Saliba. Seems Medley is being promoted to first team as well.

Reports that we just sold Bielik for around 10 million euros. Money in. Sell a few more of the deadwood and we can go get a decent CB.

I've never understood his situation at Arsenal. He seems to do well everywhere we send him, but he never gets a shot with Arsenal.

Nicolas Pépé was the only player in Europe's top five divisions to have 100+ shots, win 100+ fouls and complete 100+ take-ons in the league in 2018-19:
• 118 shots
• 108 fouls won
• 102 take-ons
22 goals and 11 assists to show for it.
