With Theo looking like a deal could happen and RVP forced to stay another year. There were a few situations I was wondering about. Should we sign another defensive minded midfielder? I believe it depends whether or not we want to give more freedom to Song. Also was wondering who should start at left back. Really going back and forth on this one and I haven't decided yet. Just trying to start up some discussion in the forum.

I'd imagine Frimpong and Coquelin will get the chance before we buy someone else, now that the M'vila deal has fallen through. Frimpong has to improve his passing though, and Coquelin has to improve his physique, which may be too slight for the PL at the moment. A big key this year is for Song and Vermaelen to learn when to go forward, as they often choose the worst time to do so. We need them to be smarter about that this year.

As far as LB goes, I'm alright with Gibbs and Santos rotating.

Yea it will be very important. We have really good individual defenders. We just need defend better as a team starting with pressing more up front.

Just a reminder of how good Jack Wilshere is. LINK
I sure hope he fully recovers. He is just about the complete midfielder and at such a young age.

Although I agree we might have more pressing issues after this summer than LB.

Gibbs seemed to improve throughout the year. If he wasn't such an injury risk he could easily be our #1. I would say he is developing into a fine LB and he is only 22. That said if he doesn't stay healthy again this year we should definitely look into getting a quality starting LB next summer.

Nice video. He really is a great young player. Hope the leeches and spells our training staff uses are working. And there was god awful finishing in that video. He could have atleast 10 more assists.

Vela to Sociedad is complete. According to Young Guns, we have an option to buy him back along with the sell-on fee that was already reported. YG says we're going to use that 3mil to increase our bid on Niang.

Is that really all he's worth? Even with a buy-back clause, it seems like he could have fetched double that.

High wages. That will be a trend for the rest of the summer. We'll sell for under FMV to get them off the books. A 50% sell on clause is quite nice though, could easily net us £5-10mil more if Vela thrives in La Liga.

Here's a great interview with Arsene. Great quotes in there: LINK

Would we have enough funds to pay RVP's demands? How about if we offload all those scrubs we've been trying to for the past few months?

If this were FIFA Manager Mode, I could take care of this problem in a heartbeat.

That's the depressing thing. It's not an issue of money to RvP. We can certainly afford to pay him whatever wage Juve would give.

We are trying to offload the rest of the dead weight, but it's tough. I have a feeling Arsene has a signing or two in store, we just have to be patient for the clear out.

I agree. He is waiting for the RVP and Theo situations to conclude before he moves, which is the smart thing to do.

Rumors are that RVP pulled out of our Asian tour to try force the club to sell him to Man Shitty.

Anyone credible saying that or is that just r/gunners and blogger pessimism?

BBC and Daily Mirror reporting he won't go on the Asia trip. United, City, and Juve have all bid on him, but well below the £20mil we want. The reporters are too speculating that he's not going because of that.

Considering Cesc refused to play for Arsenal last summer and got his way, it's probably safe to assume RvP is pulling the same stunt.
