ehh, he's not that much slower than TV5. and if memory serves, tv5 only played one or two matches at LB this year. flamini can do the job in a pinch. or jenx

Or, you know, Nacho. Flamini might be the last person I would want there, of those who could potentially play it.

well, I said "emergency LB" for a reason. you know, in case of the emergency of our top 2 LBs being out.

I'd dump nacho and sign ricardo rodriguez. but I have no faith gibbs will ever stay healthy.

I like Nacho a lot, but I would drop him in a second for Rodriguez.

i like nacho, but i'd have no problem dropping him for any number of LBs. for me, ricardo rodriguez would mean dropping gibbs, who would clearly be a backup. it'd be kinda tough, but when this was his most healthy season and he started 24 league matches, you kinda get worried. that said, AW won't axe gibbo so it won't happen.

What would be the chances of Monaco somehow put Falcao up for transfer, would Arsenal be in the hunt?

Let's have a collective prayer session about our Germans. I'm not really religious, but NO INJURIES... please God?

It was hypothetical it was just a question because he's worth a whole lot less id bet since the ACL tear so I was just wondering

I'd love Falcao, makes sense that we would buy an injured player.

financially we could afford to be in it, but I think he'd pick bigger clubs than us. Real has seemingly always been his end game, though the timing may not work out.

telegraph is reporting that TV5 has agreed to terms with ManU. didn't realize he only had a year left on his deal. get 10m and move on.

i'd also note, I'm not sure AW would be willing to spend that much on Falcao

The reason I asked this though is because of a report on twitter had a French Newspaper saying this, again I don't know how reliable this newspaper is but here's a link to BR about it today

the only way we could possibly get him is if Real sign Suarez. otherwise, he's going there. that's a shite ton of money for a guy with probably 4 top seasons left in him. that said, with ozil, santi, theo, rambo, etc. providing him service, he could very well help us win multiple trophies. everyone else we're competing against has a world class striker and he's up there with the best of them.

that'd leave us fairly short on other areas though. so if we go off the ~80-100m pound figure we started with in the transfer kitty, add 5m for Cesc, 10m for Vela, and 5-10m for TV5 (because i can't really see AW holding onto him out of all of our ocntract run-out situations). That gives us ~100-125m to play with. falcao would probably cost 55m. we could do that and still fill our other needs (DM, 2 CBs, RB, GK) with 70m. word is we're targeting Reina (wouldn't be a bad backup, not too pricey), which would give us 65m to finish out the squad. certainly doable, but again, that big a purchase doesn't seem like AW at all and there'd have to be a couple of other teams pass on Falcao before we'd even get the opportunity.

Ozil as a false 9 will be fun to watch. Here's to hoping he is in great form this tournament and carries the confidence to the upcoming season.

nah. he had a great match, but nah. don't confuse a great performance with greatness. there's a reason he's never played for a bigger club besides a lowly ligue 1 team.

So what will it take for us to get Balotelli? saying this before he's done anything in his 2nd match, but regardless I still really want him on our club.

Also, 1.5 matches and Campbell has impressed me. His movement and willingness to check back for the ball has been great.
