I'm more worried about how they are about to completely reset the transfer market. With our finite resources that is not good.

At least Europa means more Charlie Patino next season and maybe even Balogun too.

Xhaka went in on the squad after the game. You could really tell in the first 5 minutes of the game we weren’t gunna win.

Damn I love the person the guy is. It really is a shame bc of his antics a few years ago and his mental lapse he’s due for a few times a year is holding him back from really being the captain.

Need another veteran midfielder in the offseason and if Xhaka does leave, then 2.

Curious what the general thoughts are with Arsenal fans regarding Arteta?

At the beginning of the season if you had said you’d have a chance at a champions league spot heading into the final weekend, I’m assuming 99% of Arsenal fans would’ve been ecstatic about that (keep in mind nobody expected United to be this awful and everyone had them as a shoe in for top 4)

But with how the season played out with United being awful and especially the dropped points to inferior teams during the run in, there’s obviously major disappointment that 4th place isn’t locked up at this point

Of course injuries have played a huge factor and not sure Mikel deserves blame for that

I'm someone who has never rated him highly, but looking at it now he's done as good as he could. It sucks to admit. but Arsenal just are not currently a top 3 side, and it is a little gut wrenching to be 2nd fiddle.

There are so many factors that went into us being 5th this year. To be fair though, most pundits and a lot of our fans probably thought Top 6 was going to be a challenge this year after back to back 8th place finishes.

Throw in the fact that we loaned out or sold half our roster. Lost Auba. BOUGHT NOBODY IN JANUARY. Tierney, Partey, Tomiyasu have been hurt majority of the year.

Pepe and Lacazette weren't scoring goals.

Our front 4 yesterday were 23 and below. The fact that we were even in this position was kind of surprising. You can't expect to have such a young squad lead you in so many games. These kids aren't Fabregas level at that age, not many are. They've done great all year long, but last night was glaring at how much larger Newcastle was than us. It is what it is with young players and you have to expect that.

Tough to swallow. Hopefully a miracle happens on Sunday but Europa League is on par with what this team truly is.

Get some more players in the summer, specifically strikers and midfielders and we go again next year!

Overall not a bad season, but some bad moments for sure.

Agree with the opinion above. The team runs through Thomas Partey and without him we usually struggle. We have no replacement for what he does and it was the reason so many of us wanted to buy a midfielder in January (Bruno G would have been a great signing).

By the end of the season we had to start Nketiah, Elneny, Cedric, Nuno etc for multiple games. None of those players should be starting on a team trying to make the Champions league. I know Arteta isn’t perfect but our talent level (especially beyond the best 11-12 players) is still below the rest of the top 6.

This summer I expect 2 strikers (Jesus and a more typical #9), another midfielder or two to start beside Partey (Tielemans is name mentioned a lot) and more coverage for our outside backs (Hickey). And someone that can let Saka rest some games. Hopefully Saliba is back from loan permanently.

The two Robbie’s said it perfect, Arsenal players just aren’t ready for champions league play right now.

We need an old wise captain to chill the kids out on occasion, that was really difference last game, they played smart soccer we didn’t

Hey fellas. Arsenal are doing a piece about Arsenal fans in the US. They are sending videographers to a few select pubs around the country. Finn McCools got picked. Sunday should be awesome. I’ll be there and so should you. COYG.

I think Arteta isn’t good enough. We don’t score enough. With or without Auba it’s the same.

Let’s say we go big on a striker, are we really getting someone that had the goal record of an Auba? Prob not.

Plus I look at how we have lost some of these games. We lost like 10 out of 11 games from a losing position. Only the relegated teams did worse. We had no answer going down to teams. That’s on the manager not being able to change things in our favor.

Did you forget we have the youngest team in the prem? 5th is a great finish for this squad.

It's painful b/c of what could have been however I won't complain about 5th this year. Strengthen the team and build for next years top 4.

Regardless of the results today, IMO good season by us with virtually zero striker.

Love the young dudes on this team.

Legit have enjoyed seeing the development of:

Saka
Martinelli
Odegaard
ESR
Gabriel
Ben White

Hell even Nuno and Eddie have been decent at times.

I am very very very much looking forward to the summer. Priorities 1, 2, 3 and 4 are to extend Saka, sign striker, sign midfielder, and sign a LB/RB

For me this is the 2nd or 3rd most enjoyable season since I started watching in 2013. 13-14, this season, 15-16. It felt great nit seeing the same fricking clowns ruin every week like Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Willian , etc

2-1 up at halftime. We couldn’t help but give up a goal right before the half.

Nketiah now Arsenal's top scoring striker for the season.........

With 5 Premier League goals.
Crazy that Arsenal will finish 5th after reading the above stat. All in all, a great season. Disappointing with Champions League being right there, but no one expected Arsenal to finish 4th this season. Untimely injuries and lack of quality depth really hurt the team down the stretch.

Continue to develop the young talent, add reinforcements (ST, CM, fullback cover), build on the chemistry and style of play.

They need to clean up the red cards and learn how to fight back after going down a goal.

Plenty of positives to look back on this season.

Great win to end the season. Wish they would’ve done any of what they did today the past two games.

The way the last 6 weeks or so of the season unfolded leaves a sour taste in my mouth for the year, but getting 5th beat expectations. We should have been fighting for 3rd, but here we are.

You just can't drop that many points to bad teams at the end of the year

the win kinda pissed me off more, too little too late. it’s an ok season but once again we cratered to a bunch of shite teams last 1/3 of the season for the 3rd straight year. The only reason we were close That shite has to be fixed, we could be up 8 points and miss out when you lose to every damn team in bottom half of league consistently at the end of the year and at this point that’s just who we are year after year.

Xhaka wasn’t a complete shite show and I don’t remember him even costing us a game this year.

We have found our goalie.

Smith Rowe is awesome.

As far as a lack of striker, we all know why that occurred. Some progress but still a bitter taste in my mouth, don’t know if you can ever trust a team coached by him.

In sum, close but no cigar. Not ready for prime time.

And finally, frick you tottenham, I hope an asteroid hits your stadium and turns it into a lake hopefully when it is full of chicken fans. Property value in the area would go up 80%?
