Klinsmann has said he feels comfortable with Besler at LB, and he played there against Bolivia. Besler is much better player than Orzoco, and it allows to switch Fabs to the right and keep montero in check.

I think it's a much better defensive option than either Castillo at LB or Orzco at RB

I'm down
Whatever happens, just don't break up JAB & Cameron, we have real CB chemistry for the first time in years.

It was still just Bolivia.

It could be the best of several less than ideal options. Even if played out of position, he's a better defender than Orozco or Castillo.

I feel like Besler is slow as frick as is.

I do think Fab needs to go to the right. If he doesn't I feel like Montero is going to rock whoever is over there.

Besler is the fastest CB in our pool.

I'm gonna go on ahead and disagree and say it's Erik Palmer-Brown.

I don't know who the fastest CB in our pool is, but I do know that Besler is not lacking for pace.

The guy is a very good athlete.

That is my preference. Letting Fabs hold down the right with Bedoya on the right as well is the best option. Nagbe in for Zardes and move him to the left. Besler staying at home allows Nagbe to take chances and be creative.

I have a soft spot for the Bees.

As a former defenseman in high school, who wore #5 and had a white guy face/haircut combo like my momma picked out of a catalog, i relate to him.

Man I remember thinking Bes was so good leading up to the WC.

I mean I definitely would trust him more than the other options we're throwing around.

Yes, in a 3-5-2 like we had in the first half of the friendly against Chile:
Cameron-Brooks-Besler
Jones-Bradley
Bedoya-Nagbe-Fabs
Dempsey-Wood

That could work since Bedoya has played wingback before. I don't see Jurgen making the switch though. Still not sure why we abandoned the formation. It looked pretty promising.

We can be in the 3-5-2 in attack and then revert back when defending.
