Geiger has definitely had controversial matches before. Today doesn’t help.

The Argentina ref with the comb over has done the best officiating so far. He controlled everything well.
He has to, in his country it is life or death. I have been to a Boca game...nothing on Earth like it.

He might be, but you say it with such passion. I can't say that about anything in my life.

i would LOVE to see harry maguire plant a zidanesque headbutt straight to Falcao's nose....once the game is in hand of course.

That is all true...but, Geiger has sucked and that is too bad for American Soccer.
Geiger probably should have given a red in the first half but if you don't understand the pressure not to give a red in a big pressure game (See: Howard Webb not giving a red to Nigel De Jong in the 2010 final) then you're naive to the game. Overall he's done ok, and has made the right decision on close calls (like the Lingard penalty shout) and has better control now that he's started giving out yellows like candy. And in the end, how Mark Geiger does here matters very little for American soccer.

Passion is what make this game the best sport in the world

I just turned it on, would James have made a difference for Columbia?

How was it there?

I was worried this would go to PKs and Sterling would mise the last one and lose it.
He would have to leave Britain

James could have changed the complexion of this match IMO. Outcome? Maybe but I’m not sure.
