This guy was the insider regarding the USMNT scene surrounding the WC, and is personal friends with Weston stemming from the Dallas area. He’s finally making the podcast rounds confirming locker room info and Weston’s move to Leeds amongst other things. He also claims to have insight to Balogun’s future through Musah and Weah.
He’s confirmed what most have speculated about what he calls the “eurocourt” players vs the “MLS yes men” during the WC. Greggg lost the bigger personalities, whereas the MLS players were outspoken to Gregggg’s defense (which makes sense that it was the MLS players providing the quotes post-WC experience). According to 29, Greggg “lost the locker room” and the eurocourt don’t care who the US coach is, since they are bound together, despite a Gregggg character. Basically, their experiences with their clubs are more involved currently, and their past relationships together through the US system started as young kids prior to Gregggg’s hiring.
It’s seems that the Gio issue was a clear manifestation of those differences by telling him he wasn’t going to play much before the WC, but then claiming he was hurt. 29’s point was why would you say he’s being lazy in training if the guy is injured? You can’t have it both ways.
29 is annoying to listen to, and could be looking for his semi “15 minutes”. But whether you believe him or not, he has come through on several things before the major reporting outlets released their headlines.

quote:While everything he says may be true I couldn’t make it through 5 minutes of the Leeds podcast he was on last week because he is so cringeworthy.

I would be wary of believing the unverified claims of an over the top clout chaser on any of this. Just last month he said with 100% confidence that Wes was only going to transfer to a champions league team. The Scuffed pod refuses to talk about him anymore because he’s frequently way off base and seems desperate for attention.

The English version of The Athletic thanked him for his help in preparing their article on Wes' transfer to Leeds.

On Tuesday my friend told me he was going fishing on Thursday. Friday, I found out he went to the races instead. Am I a bad source for reporting that? He changed his mind and I didn't find out until after the fact.
