The only thing i’d Like to see change is golden goal in extra time.

I'm not against that tbh.

Imgur probably changed something because I've been having trouble posting from Imgur too
Posted on 7/1/18 at 12:19 pm to McCaigBro69
I wouldn’t mind that either

After 120 minutes of play, I can't think of another way to end it. I'm fine with it. I love the drama.
That being said, I'm disappointed in the entire Russian team for not individually teabagging Ramos' smug face after that bullshite he pulled after his PK. frick that dude.

Sports bar, sunny isles FL which has a huge Russian population. Trump has bunch of buildings here and few thousand condos. Mostly owned by Russians.

There was an interesting article from a guy who wrote a microeconomics thesis on penalty kicks at Duke that talked about several issues with penalty kicks. The first is the advantage for the first team to take a penalty. I know Spain lost today, but the first team is a 60/40 favorite. He proposes a snake format (ABBA, instead of ABAB) to even it up. I think that is a great suggestion.
Another possibility that I really like is having penalties taken before overtime begins. That way, the "losing" team has incentive to attack and teams don't resort to stalling.
The third option he doesn't seem to like as much but FIFA has apparently gotten really into it. And that is using the mid-90s MLS format of having hockey style penalty kicks. Where the player starts further out and can dribble, while the goalkeeper can also move around quite a bit.

Definitely not a fan of this. Why not move the penalty spot back?

I would be so down for old nasl/mls style penalties as a one off in the next confed cup

This was simply terrible
Your second idea, what if it ends up a draw again? You can’t play for 3 hours, the quality would be terrible
At the end of the day penalties is about bottle, Ive literally never seen england win one (don’t remember 96) and i still think it’s great. Even my gf looked up from her phone to watch

How is the preparation with Fleetwood coming along?

Soccer novice, but I enjoyed the game. Spain seemed too passive the first ~80 minutes of the game and it cost them.
The Russian goal keeper will have to beat the ladies off with a stick.

Let's appreciate Real Madrid's part in this loss.

I actually like the way high school soccer handles the overtime periods. It’s two 10-minute periods of normal play (no golden goal), then if it’s still tied, two 5-minute periods of golden goal. Only goes to penalties if still tied after 110 minutes and no golden goal was scored.
I also like the idea of snaking the penalty pattern. Would create an interesting new dynamic.
