To each their own I guess. I think it slows down the game too much and has taken away a ton from one the most exciting moments in sports- a goal.

Wow, Curacao. That was bad.

This Elis guy is pretty good or has been the first 30 minutes at least.
Leon Bailey looks completely uninterested.

I love how the translated headline says the player 'escaped'.

They pretty much need to escape. They have guards around there hotel.
ESPN did a 30 for 30 on the Hernandez brothers defecting, and one of them had to sneak out of the hotel in a laundry basket.

At what point does Cuba just stop playing in these things unless they are in Cuba?
Aroldis Chapman did the same thing (one that comes to mind)
I’m sure other well known athletes (mostly baseball players) did the same when they were competing in Tournaments around the world

I wonder how much they really care? It seems like it may be somewhat beneficial if the players send any money home now that private persons can own land.

That does seem likely
I did just read Chapman failed to defect once before
And they allowed him back on the team.
He defected the next chance he had when they were in the Netherlands

Nicaragua sent 3 players home for hiring hookers.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. I bet Costa Rica has some good ones.
My favorite Gold Cup moment was from two years ago when French Guiana gave CONCACAF the middle finger and played Florent Malouda when he was banned. The officials just let him play.

As much as I hate CONCACAF it really is awesome.

How can y’all not love CONCACAF?

I’m trying to watch the Mexico Canada game and these announcers make me want to blow my brains out. How the frick are we supposed to get the average American into soccer when we are subjected to this shite.

Lack of VAR just stopped a promising Canadian attack.
Posted on 6/19/19 at 9:57 pm to arkyhawk
it would be too much to ask for Canada to win this match, right?

It’s funny to me that Mexico’s best player is an average MLS winger
