I think this player core decided to cash in and take it easy in the MLS.

Bradley was the only major part of our player pool this cycle that did this.

Dempsey's role has been greatly diminished due to age and he spent the prime of his career overseas. and Jozy going to the MLS helped him. Too soon to tell on Arriola.

Arena was worse, this stint with US soccer, than Jurgen.

Wholeheartedly disagree. Jurgen gave our team no identity over the last 3 years. Arena tried to fix that in a short time span.

But honestly, this is more about the players. Irregardless of the coach. Our talent gap over these countries is amazing. The players didn't get it done. Bradley was terrible and uninspired tonight. I'd be happy if we started to develop another 6 in his place.

It's not a manager issue and never was honeatly.

I think deciding to stay with Klinsmann at the end of WC 2014 allowed the core group of players to stay comfortable. It's very rare for a coach to last more than a cycle literally every where else other than countries where the coach has actually won something. Why have we done it with Arena, Bradley, and Klinsmann?

But really? You think Jurgen and Bruce were consistently setting our guys up to succeed?

We failed to qualify out of the hex.

I don't care who the manager is..

Be mad at the players. Hold them accountable for fricks sake.

I mean, it already has. It doesn't make very much sense.

We need a billionaire to save us.

I can hold multiple people accountable. Klinsmann, Arena, Gulati, the players. It's not that hard.

Accountability isn't mutually exclusive.

The players certainly take a large part of the blame. But the managers fricked up too. This match alone, not playing Cameron, not calling in Fabian Johnson to play left back.

Both Arena and Jurgen failed to find anywhere near a suitable replacement for Jermaine Jones, which has killed us. Meanwhile Danny Williams is out there as a replacement getting minutes for an EPL side. Or even if you don't love Cameron at CB, why not play him the Beckerman role that we also dearly miss. He plays CDM for Stoke sometimes.

As much as this sucks, it's really what we deserve for failing to integrate new talent and new energy into the squad. The philosophy was clearly "one more hurrah for the old guard" and we took making it to the WC for granted. It had become a given to those guys, and that was evident. fricking disgusting. No one on this roster but Wood, Altidore, Yedlin, Arriola, and Pulisic shoudl wear a US jersey again.

When your world cup lives comes down to at least tying Trinidad and Tobago and you lose...Im gonna blame the players every time.

Its hilarious to me the levels of deflection people are making for the this team and its players.

Who isn't blaming the players? We shouldn't even have been in this position, and the people who put us in this position are, yes, Klinsmann, Arena, Gulati, and the players. Klinsmann should never have been in charge for the 2018 cycle. The squad was in transition and needed to be invigorated by a new coach in my view. Again, why are we so obsessed with giving a coach two cycles? Has any coach we've had ever had a successful 2nd cycle?

It's hilarious to me you can't admit a manager might deserve a little bit of blame considering he's the guy who is responsible for setting his team up to succeed.

Where did I ever say otherwise?
