There were some other New Orleanians on the flight over who didn't get WC tickets. Feeling lucky with my site specific fluke to get the US.

There's still a lot of tickets available

Hey guys, I'm leaving for Rio today and will spend the next week there before moving on to Natal for a couple of games. I will be attending the USA-Ghana game.

Is anybody from the board going to be in either Rio or Natal through the USA game? If so, PM me and we should meet up. My group should be going to the AO parties.

Man seeing this post got me jacked for my trip. I have tickets to US/Portugal and US/Germany, but I'm not leaving till the 20th. I'm spending two nights in Manaus, then high-tailing it to the beaches of Porto de Galinhas till the 27th.

If any other SBers are gonna be there, holler.

Long time lurker of the Rant.....don't judge me.

I'm headed there on the 15th. Will be in Rio, Porto de Galinhas and Recife. So far I've got tickets to Spain/Chile and USA/Germany.

I'm arrive in Rio on the 28th, and the only tickets I have are for that knockout game on that day (C1 vs. D2).

I am so excited just for the entire experience

Saw the Jesus today and Sugarloaf mountain yesterday. This city is amazing.

Hard to find an ATM that accepts my MasterCard so I would recommend changing money beforehand or using ATMs at the airport.

Can't post any pics yet since they're on my phone and internet here blows monkey balls. Barely any 3G anywhere as well.

Just curious what does that entail and how much did it cost?

Sorry for the late response. It includes all hotel and transfer. So flights there, flight to Manaus, bus to Recife. And it was $5,400. This is like my #1 thing I've always wanted to do so I feel as though it's worth it.

It should be noted I'm also going to rio on my own. Flight was $430, hostel another $300 for 3 days, plus excursions and everything.

Having a friend that has been here before us nice. Last night went to Lapa for nightlife which I would recommend to anyone down here. It's really authentic. Kind of like Rio's Bourbon but not shitty and touristy.

I also like how all of the friendlies are on TV here.

Beach time.

I am currently in Rio. It is not that scary of a place, yet. These people are nice. I have worn my Altidore jersey and my USMNT shirt the two days I have been here. The poor people here give me shitty looks. Children beg for money like crazy. It seems clean besides how people let their dogs crap on the sidewalk. Some pick it up, some don't. Prices are not as high as I thought. 4$ for a nicer beer on the beach.

Anyways, so many Mexicans are here. Most of them are cool and openly talk about how their team sucks, but they love to cheer for El Tri. They also like to get sauced in Brazil.

I have not seen many USA fans yet (5 to be exact). I saw a Donovan jersey and a Dempsey. Some guy hollered "GO YANKS!!!!" at me today which was nice.

The build up to this tournament is so great. People from all different countries are drinking and partying together. I mean, I drank and spoke to Mexicans in a friendly way. It was kinda weird. He told me some racial slurs I should yell at Klinsmann at the Ghana game bc of no Landon in Brazil. Loco. I'm clearly not doing that.

I just cannot wait till June 16th. I will be SAMBA dancing in the streets after that game.

I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN

GO YANKS

Australians and Mexicans are now in Rio in full force.

Leave for Natal tomorrow. I have 7 days worth of 'Murica gear prepped. Hope to see a ton of USMNT supporters there. RSVPed to US Soccer AO night before and game day parties.

Rio is a great place but I'm just ready for the Cup to start.

Is anybody in Natal? Looking for some bar suggestions and people to hang out with.

Our condo is further away than we would like and things are way more spread out here than in Rio. Natal seems kind of empty where we are and almost like a bigger Brazilian version of Gulf Shores.

Mexicans are screaming in the streets and all over the beach. Their game needs to end and they need to leave. Looking for some USA guys ASAP.
