The players were already pissed at Gio as is. Tyler Adams reportedly tried to fight him during training because Gio was moping around.

There had to have been issues prior to Gregg making those comments. Gregg prides himself on team camaraderie and a tight locker room…then implies Gio was slacking at the WC immediately after getting back. Also, on the Reyna side, you don’t bring up domestic violence allegations in this day and age without the intent of seriously harming someone’s reputation.
Gregg airing out dirty laundry wasn’t right. The Reyna’s response was even worse. This has to go deeper than some comments made post-WC.

Maybe some conversations were had following the WC opener or after Gregg told Gio he’d have a limited role. I’m sure Gio relayed that info back to his family.

It sounds like an old friendship that got mixed with business and the Reyna's responded retardedly. Adults can be irrational children. Happens all the time. This isn't excusing any party involved here but this is how I perceive it

I've seen friendships ruined with parents in my neighborhood over fricking 9 year old travel baseball where one of the guys was the coach
