You have no chance of coaching the USMNT then. Paul Arriola rejoices.

Who are the players that Gregg is rumored to have problems with?

Miazga, Hoppe, Brooks, Pefok, Steffen, and Gio?

How does Gregg have a problem with them? Just because he doesn't call them up?

Well he clearly has an issue with Gio.

At the very least, Miazga has a major issue with Gregg. LINK

quote:

“We didn’t see eye to eye on a few things in the past and that has affected me from being called up. But it is what it is,” Miazga said.

quote:

“I’d like to say few things but I’ll refrain from that. You guys will eventually find out.

Hoppe had some sort of issue as well but he has played poorly the last 2 years and didn’t help his case.

Clearly something is going on with Brooks for a long time.

Pefok is speculation although Gregg has shown himself to be the worst liar I’ve come across besides my dad who can’t even tell a white lie to keep a birthday party a secret, and none of the Pefok explanations made sense when he was in great form.

That leaves Steffen who was certainly a surprise snub. I’ve always been pro-Turner though.

Overall I think Gregg has better relations with his team than many national team coaches.

But the difficulty of having a guy go through multiple cycles is clearly there, especially with a fixed player pool, unlike with club sides.

Now he does, but before this drama, he called up Gio to literally every camp when he was healthy.

Yeah, he wasn't playing at all for Benfica and had been shite in his last few call ups.

The Miazga comment, I have no reason to believe that "not seeing eye-to-eye" has anything to with off the field stuff.

Right or wrong, Gregg was looking for a specific type of CB.

I think there is a difference between a coach "having a problem" with someone and just not rating them.

The Brooks stuff began long ago. He didn’t deserve to even be considered for Qatar. However he was a regular starter in the Bundesliga from 2020 to 2022 and got very little time.

Pefok is the one guy who it could truly be just soccer related. And with Steffen, it could be some they related to exhaustion/mental health but everything isn’t completely adding up, at least to me.

Gregg had something against Scally a Bundesliga starter. Yedlin and Moore an SPL league 2 washout played ahead of him. Maybe Gregg has something against the Bundesliga not calling Pefok. Maybe Gregg's just a knuckle head who believed Ferreira gave us the best chance against the Netherlands!?

If he had something against him, why the frick would he call him up?

I just think Gregg overthinks shite when it comes to evaluating player. Not saying that should excuse him for some of the decisions he's made, I just don't think it has anything to do with him having an off the field vendetta against all these guys.

With Scally I think it’s as a simple as he didn’t play much in the easy games. As a result, Gregg didn’t have a sample size of good games he played for the USMNT. It’s dumb but I can explain it

Can’t blame him when dudes like Jordan Morris were going

He definitely gives off that vibe at times.

Because higher up told him to maybe.

And calling up is just part 1. Playing him is what didn’t happen (part 2).

I promise you, if Gregg had something against Scally, he's not calling him to the World Cup.

It is absolutely bad form from the Reynas - but if the retard didn’t throw a 20 year old under the bus publicly and immediately after a very sensitive situation - for conference look at me lead brownie points - this doesn’t happen. Doesn’t make it right - but he lit the fuse. Nevermind not playing him (although I guess some still pretend he was injured). Again - terrible form by the Reynas in response to terrible form by Greg.

This has turned into U12 travel team drama. Rich kid doesn't want to participate or give 100% in practice. Coach doesn't play him. Rich parents think their kid should be playing. They are so upset they dig up dirt to get the coach fired. Also, they had to go back 30 years to find any dirt at all on Gregg? Apparently he's been a class act his entire life then except for that one incident

If your under 12 coach put out effectively a press release calling out the 11 year old then I get the analogy. This happenned the moment that dipshit showed his leadership skills and blabbed.

Oh, and I won’t pass judgment on the rest of greggs life - but if you think he went to counseling and did all that PC shite as an 18-year-old in 1991 over this then I have a bridge to sell you.

I think there’s a shot he may have. In one instant he went from being the hotshot freshman at a big ACC school to being the most hated guy on campus by the entire women’s soccer team, which just happened to be the best program in the country and run by the coach of the women’s national team.

This was before soccer debuted in the Olympics and before the 1999 women’s World Cup but these were still very prominent people on campus.

Some guys learn from their mistakes. Some guys don’t change, embrace the villain role because they can’t control their anger, and then kill their girlfriends and go to prison for the rest of their lives.
