U.S. Soccer Federation has created two new Board-level Committees and restructured senior management.

A new Technical Development Committee will provide board-level understanding of soccer operations within the Federation and will be co-chaired by U.S. Soccer Board members and former National Team players Carlos Bocanegra and Angela Hucles.

The Commercial Committee will provide oversight to U.S. Soccer’s commercial activities and lend assistance with an in-depth analysis of the organization’s future plans, in particular the dynamic media rights and sponsorship landscape.

Yay, committees
Better than having one person in charge of everything like Sunil was.

And it's good that we're putting qualified people in the right positions, like Bocanegra.

One thing people have been wanting was to spread the power out. Now that we're doing that, we're just getting a "ho-hum"? I know it's not something to dance in the street about, but these seem to be good changes.

Definitely a step in the right direction. Our scouting system needs significant overhaul, as well. So much talent slips through the cracks.

encouraging that the federation is doing what they said they would do

The American system is a broken system. Developmental programs are in place, but title 9 kills it for the kids trying to advance.

Interested in your take. Serious question. Do you have kids who are involved in the system, are do you have exposure to developmental leagues?

Me too because you are correct. The system is unlikely to ever turn us into a soccer power.

Both our U20 and U17 teams just made the quarterfinals in their respective World Cups. U17 team lost to the champs, U20 team lost to the runner up. We've got more kids making the jump to Europe than ever. We've got teenagers that grew up in the states getting minutes in just about every major league in Europe. We have strong prospects at pretty much every position.
Our system could be better, more efficient, more inclusive, etc., but it's far from broken and is still getting better.

College soccer is no longer a main part in the american soccer development system.
It's more like a catch-all net/last chance for those that fell by the wayside in our youth academies.

Blaming college soccer is a good sign you haven’t been paying attention the last several years
