Damn, I can't believe I left out Holden and Davies. Although Holden would be in the Subs. I'm sure I could have found somewhere to fit Davies in up top with McBride.

Formation 5-3-2

With our athletes size and speed I feel safe to play 3 at the back.

However, in soccer athleticism is not the end all be all....skill and technique will trump athleticism.

I was trying to make this thread productive and make it into an USMNT dream team thread, but I see it has gone down the path of no return.

Are we assuming that said people would have played soccer from a young age and concentrated on it year round?

And are we assuming they are at the height of their abilities. Cause I think Kobe may be on the downhill side right now.

Aw damn I actually forgot about Landon. Don't tell Vick I said that.

I would replace Bedoya with LD.

I thought you were building with the current 23. I would never fault you for that. By the way, I am going to let go the anger about this once the World Cup is over and the influx of negative things about LegenD stop being said.

It was suggested at the VERY beginning to just make this thread, pin it and let all the bullshite be posted in that thread and the sane people can just ignore it.

No love for Meb Keflezighi? Every team needs a Jordan Henderson type of player that won't stop running.

True.

What about Galen Rupp or Bernard Lagat. I bet one them would have become a world class box to box midfielder.

Tired thread topic. But it can be fun if you're not a butthurt soccer snob. No offense to the butthurt soccer snobs out there.

With the level of athletes and the sheer number of them that America produces, and assuming they all played soccer their entire lives, we would dominate the world like no one ever has. Just my opinion.

Skill and technique are both a part of athleticism. You don't think Chris Paul or Patrick Peterson have skill and technique? Give me a break. It's just a different set of skills and technique that they have developed for basically their entire lives to play other sports..

Now imagine if guys like that, along with all the other freakish athletes we have playing football, basketball, and baseball, pursued a soccer career instead. If the best of our best played soccer, It would just be absurd.

Also, in this ridiculous hypothetical situation that will never happen, you would have to factor in how the advancement in coaching, training, and every other resource we have would change things if soccer was one of the most popular sport here.

But it isn't, so shite.

Westbrook is one of the fastest and most explosive athletes the Us has. If he somehow played soccer he needs to play striker
