I'm waiting for somebody to be strangely furious about this roster. I don't see much wrong with it, outside of maybe Chandler.

ETA: Might be a bit harsh on Goodson after he played pretty well in the Gold Cup, but I can't get worked up about that.

I think it's pretty perfect. Evans has looked solid at RB, plus Cameron can cover for him, while chandler hasn't played at all during our recent run of form

ETA: Agreed maybe Goodson over orozco but that's really a judgement call

The only thing I'd rather is Corona over Becks.

Timmy Chandler and his wishy-washy arse can go frick himself.

Let's get wins against Costa Rica and Mexico and that should pretty much wrap it up for us.

Orozco has played RB recently, so there's that. That's the nice thing about Cameron, he might not start but he can provide cover at 3 positions.

I like Corona, just not sure he's needed on this roster. Donovan, Bedoya, and Zusi can play on the right. Donovan, Fabian, Dempsey, and Eddie can play on the left. He's not getting time at the 10 when we have Dempsey and Donovan.

So we all agree that Donovan should start on the right wing over Zusi, right?

Interesting to see how the lineups go, because I don't see why you bring in Beasley and Castillo if you're not planning on playing Fabian on the LW

I love Beasley and Fab starting together on the left. Both excel going forward, both are adequate defenders, both make a habit of covering the entire flank.

It's a great tandem.

I'd bet the starting lineup is
Howard-GK
Beasley-LB
Besler-CB
Gonzo-CB
Evans-RB
Fabian-LW
Bradley-CM
Jones-CM
Donovan-RW
Dempsey-CAM
Altidore-F

Not saying that's our best lineup but that's probably what we go with

I agree that's the most likely 11.

I would not be shocked if he picked Cameron over Evans or Brooks over Gonzo.

Forwards: Can't complain at all with those choices.

Midfield: Why Beckerman when you have Jones, Bradley, and Cameron? I would have preferred Corona over him, but that's it. I'm essentially arguing about a guy who is the 7th midfielder and likely won't play a second.

Goalkeeper: Exactly what anyone else would have chosen.

Central Defense: Besler, Omar, Brooks, Cameron, and Orozco. Pretty damn good, if you ask me.

Fullbacks: Beasley, Castillo, Evans....Yikes. That's a weak group, and if Mexico and Costa Rica have any brains, they will attack us on the flanks. What the hell is going on with Chandler? I understand why Evans keeps getting called in with Chandler still not wanting to play (even thuogh he is CAP TIED) and Cherundolo's injury, but Lichaj would have been nice to see.

At left back, I am very nervous with anyone other than Fabien, but it looks like he will be on the wing, and Beasley will be LB. This could be very dangerous.

I'm getting a bad feeling that Jurgy is getting married to the idea of Beasley/Evans at LB/RB. I just don't know how he can think that it's better to have those guys playing out of position in the World Cup than it is to find some solid guys who play there for their club.

Am I crazy or is it crazy that JK's top 3 fullbacks right now are, in order: Beasley (MF), Evans (MF), Castillo ( )?

I realize FJ may end up playing there, but that doesn't seem to be how JK's thinking.

I wouldn't be shocked if he picked Zusi over Donovan. At least for the first game or two. Not saying it's what I'd do, just that it wouldn't really surprise me.

I don't know how popular or unpopular this opinion is on this board, but I'm starting to like Evans over Cameron at RB. I thought Cameron looked pretty good for us at CB, and had a fantastic game at CM, but I just don't like him at RB.

I'd be less surprised by that though then I would with Brooks over Gonzo.

Seems very likely. Johannsson is definitely looking like a 60th minute sub, and I can also see Cameron as RB, but if I had to bet, I would pick Evans.

This is by far the most talented squad we have brought in our entire qualifying campaign
