I wanted Jose Pekerman this cycle as it was known he wanted the position. Really good tactician, doesn't play favorites and is really good with youth. Unfortunately he doesn't speak inglés so the federation said nope.

It was on a podcast I was listening to with ex-players. I think it was with Hercules Gomez and a couple of others.

Pundit Herc no doubt but he wasn't the one talking about Pekerman it was one of the sources like Jorge Ramos (Uruguayan version). It was in Spanish, I'll see if I can find it. They also said Lopetegui wanted the job but was also turned away.
