Why is Chad Ochocinco Hosting World Cup Tonight?

Do they just let any celebrity or athlete host if they are a big soccer fan? He sucks, and his commentary is either boring or dumb. Mo Edu isn’t much better either.
Alexi Lalas has only been on one of four nights this week, which is criminal. We need more Dempsey, Alexi, and former stars from other countries like they used to do.

Huh?
Alexi has been on the desk every night so far.

For Fox or ESPN?
I honestly don't know if he is still with ESPN or not.

“A cool black man likes soccer therefore you should think it’s cool too”
That’s the TV executives’ thinking

ESPN has been infighting for the last three years on whether tBlacks or tGays deserve to be spoon fed to the public more.

Less Alexi? Great.
In reality, he loves the sport, tends to be liked as a personality, and "did a try out" for an MLS club. As an aside, it's an interesting little twist, but he shouldn't be taking up major time as a pundit.
More Dempsey, Carli, and LD, and I'd love other countries' former stars to get some time.

Ochocinco is the Cooper Manning of the NFL Fox crew

I’ve watched every World Cup tonight. He was only on Monday I believe. Maybe one more day.

He's not in a main role, so it's not a big deal.

I laugh every time a British announcer says Ochocinco. They try to pronounce it like it’s a legit last name and not just 85 in Spanish

It’s not even really that, either. It’s 8 and 5 in Spanish put together. His name should be Ochenta y Cinco.
