Tell me more about these league wide identities. I’ve never heard this argument before.

They should do a La Liga - EPL matchup like SEC Big 12 type thing.
I'd prefer a preseason of this rather than the International Championship Cup if I'm being honest.

Can you name 10 teams in the league?

In Ligue 1? Easily.
Bruh I’ve played football manager for like 5000 hours lmao
ETA: And that is a depressing fact

Yeah you have. You've heard teams in Spain like possessing the ball, or how there is very little space for attackers in Serie A. There hasn't been a cogent English identity since the 1990's, though.

Until another league can start winning Champion Leagues, La Liga will still be the best.

Yeah, maybe one great season in Europe recently but the Bundesliga is always very overrated on this board. I think because many posters started following football closely when they had that strong stretch 4-8 years back and people like the open attacking style of play.
However, historically and right now, the Bundesliga is closer to French Ligue 1 than it is to La Liga, EPL and Serie A if you look at the better 8-10 clubs.

This.
ETA: I think a big part of it has to do with how many USMNT guys are there and so it’s hyped up.
I’d say Ligue 1 has been more competitive over the last five years than the Bundesliga has. At least PSG hasn’t won every year in that span. Can’t say the same for Germany.
The bottom of the bundesliga is very much shite as well. Same in France, but France’s mid/upper table sides are better, IMO.

I don't know how the rest of the league stacked up in that stretch, but the Bundesliga has to have a claim as the best during that stretch if we use La Liga's recent European success to make their current claim.

I didn't really follow in the 70s but they certainly did have some big European successes. Dutch Eredivisie too.
Not sure either how the leagues stacked up back then depth wise.
League depth always seems to be always used to support the EPL's strength when their teams don't do well in Europe but then often ignored when comparing other leagues based only on what the best team did in the CL.

Soccer fans, I'm somewhat of a novice. Why is the English Premier League, the superb and actual "premier" league of all? Obviously, I get why it's better than the MLS. Any dolt can tell you that.
But what makes it better than the German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, Ligue 1, and so forth? These leagues have great teams and history - A.C. Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, PSG, Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and so on.
I presume money?
La Liga has been a 2-team league for 100 years.
Germany is usually Bayern Munich with Dortmund sprinkled in.
France is PSG, Monaco & Lyon(sometimes)
Italy usually belongs to Juventus when they're not cheating. Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Lazio all mix in.
No other leagues matter.

It's been two uninterrupted decades. Hardly 'recent'.
Italy did well in the 90's (possibly the best, but certainly nothing demonstrating absolute dominion).

La Liga made the Champions League final once between 2003 and 2008. They did do a little better in Europa League.

CL winners four times that decade, I believe. This decade we're closing out, six or seven, I believe.
I think UEFA/Europa was won by a Spanish side the majority of this time frame, as well.
Apart from that, clubs typically got quite far in both competitions before bowing out, and if I'm not mistaken, La Liga has most certainly suffered the most fratricides (final being played between two from the same league).
Just checked totals, which are as follows:
SPAIN
European Cup / Champions
Wins 18 (1st)
Runnerups 11
UEFA / Europa
Wins 11 (1st)
Runnerups 5

Atlético has had a lot more European success than Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham and most would argue better than Chelsea or Liverpool recently.
Yet, EPL has a "big 6" while La Liga is a "2-team league"?
This is the "high end" side of the way I was talking about "depth" being applied differently to the EPL above.
I also fail to understand how Real, Barca, Juve and Bayern constantly winning their leagues is such a knock on Atlético, Napoli, Roma, Dortmund et al.
It's not that the EPL teams facing these juggernauts in CL are revealing how easy they are to beat.
