I'm all for getting rid of the three team group idea. What a terrible idea it was.
I hate the fact 3rd place teams can get through as it'll be a mess to sort as well as reduce a lot of the drama we typically see on the final group stage games. But if expanding this keeps the greedy FIFA assholes from doing a WC every 2 years then I'm all for it.

This is better than the stupid 16 groups of 3 idea but I just wish it had stayed at 32 teams.

Idk, expanded euros has been kind of fun. Iceland making a run and beating England in the knockouts comes to mind.

What will clubs say about this, as their players increase wear and injury risk of more games? And it will increase the time it takes to play the whole event. How much say do clubs have in extended time/games?
