They were predicting winners for today's games last night and Fiore's reasons for picking the winners had zero to do with soccer. He picked Morocco cause they lost the 2026 bid and Spain and Uruguay cause members of his family were from there. Ian Wright was losing his mind.

I agree - ESPN was absolutely dynamite with their national soccer coverage.

Actually turns out it was just Ballack being a dickhead and giving both Lalas and Rossi the business but still good.

Trigger warning: may rustle your USMNT jimmies if you’re a snowflake.

Fox needs to get it together

Look at who ITV and BBC got out there

and that's just a little bit

at least ESPN had the clout to pull in some star power

They need to show Kate Abdo and Rachel Bonetta more. That would make it a little more watchable.

I’ve tried to give FOX a fair shake, but it’s just cringeworthy most of the time. Pales in comparison to the polished and professional coverage ESPN and NBC give soccer. Some of the individual analysts and commentators are fine, but the overall package is poor. Fiore is not the right guy to lead the group.

I turn off the TV or put it on mute as soon as the game is over. No desire to watch their nightly recap show. Pales in comparison to ESPN and their hilarious Men in Blazers bits.

Fiore is the host.

He is f'in terrible, and not funny, clever, or even charming.

I flipped it on, and some clown had on a fishermans hat(black guy), leaning to the side in his chair, like some cool guy, Fiore was trying to be funny, and it was really bad.

Holy shite was that bad

Fox already has the rights to the 2026 WC.

I knew we were screwed when Fox announced the commentators. How in the hell can you have John Strong and Stu Holden as your number one team? Can a brother get some Ian Darke, Martin Tyler, or Jon Champion? Why Fox believes that Americans want to hear an “American voice” calling the action is dumbfounding. We just want to hear someone that’s entertaining avd knows what the hell they’re actually talking about.

I don't mind them at all, very good at what they do. I also enjoyed the JP Dellacamera and Tony Meola booth. Two good American commentating teams.

But that's literally been the one high point of Fox's coverage. Rob Stone, God love him, he's been in the US soccer media forever, he is nowhere near as good of a host as Bob Ley or Tirico, and Fiore adds absolutely nothing to the coverage other than being a token South American.

ETA: Also Grant Wahl was not made for TV.

Tuned in again for a second tonight. Show is still terrible. Fiore is incredibly irritating. Don’t know what the deal is with the Russian dj.

Fiore is the clown that does the "Ready! ... Aim! ...Fireeeeee!" bit for every freekick, right?

This is my thing.

Don't get me wrong, I think they're good at what they do, but it's not what people want/are used to hearing.

It's like eating eggs and toast every morning for breakfast. But now, I have to eat yogurt and granola one morning because i'm out of eggs and toast.
The yogurt is good and fills me up, but it's not what I want.

You saying American announcers like Stu Holden don't know what they're talking about?

I prefer Holden in the studio.
I'm not huge on him as an in-game color commentator.
