9 goals and 5 assists in all comps this season so far
I'm not sure what to make of our striker pool.
Based on recent camps, Flo and Pepi are at the top of totem pole right now but neither are setting the world on fire for their clubs. Meanwhile, we have Sargent, Wright and Vazquez bagging goals but that's two guys in the Championship and one in Liga MX, so is that really enough to push for minutes over Flo and Pepi? Idk.
I guess it's good to have guys putting the pressure on the top, but I'm not sure how real that pressure is.

Wright is playing mostly left wing.

But he's a 9, so it doesn't really matter where he is playing for club.

5 years ago we had 30 year old, hobbled Jozy Altidote and Gyasi Zardes playing the 9 in a Gold Cup Final. All 5 of those guys would be an upgrade over them. Man how times have changed, but still a long way to go.

Gio's a 10 so it doesn't really matter where GGG is playing him.
Also GGG I won't call in Sargent because he hasn't been playing the 9 he was playing winger prior to this season.

And he's being the most productive he's ever been while playing on the wing. With our lack of winger depth and having Flo, Pepi, Sargent and Pefok, I would give him a shot to see where he stands as a winger over someone like Brendo

I couldn't agree more...
Our front three and backups provided all are healthy for Nations League and Copa should be
CF Flo/Pepi
LW CP/Haji
RW Weah/Sargent
Some arguments as to the form Flo is in whether Sarge should be #1 up top. Brendo has played himself off the roster.

Lol he called him up for the World Cup and started him first match

Earlier dude....
But the fact that he did call him up kinda flies in the face of the point you were trying to make.

Your the one who is not getting it. You called for Haji to be a 9. I pointed out that GGG did not call Sarge because he was not playing the 9.

You can't claim intellectual dominance while using the wrong "your vs you're"
Them's the rules on TD.

Because that's what he is first and foremost.
Just like Weah is a winger despite where he plays for Juve and Richards is a CB despite where he plays for Palace.

...but he did call him up.
See: 2022, World Cup

Back to the topic at hand, even if we were to start viewing Haji more as a winger, I still would place him behind Booth and Paredes when it comes to winger depth right now.
So however we want to look at it, he's probably on the outside looking in at the moment.

Blow your whistle or throw a yellow flag or get out your red pen if you want but we are talking soccer not English grammar police. You can believe he is a 9 all you want but the team that writes his paycheck plays him as a wing.

Lol, dude it was a joke. Lighten the frick up, it's a message board.

So is Tim Weah more of a RWB/RB than a winger in your eyes?
As for Sargent, the 12 games for Norwich before he went to Qatar, he played 8 games on the wing, 4 games as a nine.
Just because the USMNT wasn't calling him up for a spell is not necessarily because he was playing a certain position for his club, although that's the easy way to explain it away when the media asks the coach about it, but if that was truly the case, certain players that get called up all the time wouldn't be getting call ups.
Fact of the matter is, we actually have some semblance of depth now with this current generation in the player pool so there will be times when players don't get called in because the staff prefers someone else at the time. In the case of Sargent during WCQ's, his call ups drying up coincided with Pepi saving the team's arse in Honduras and then he built on that goodwill with a brace against Jamaica. This shite is all fluid.

I'm just saying we should at least kick the tires on him at winger. We know who Brendon is at this point. So have guys like Haji, Booth* and Paredes battle it out to see who can be the depth behind our starters
*Booth to me still on the out looking in. Had a great game obviously the other day but has gone a long time without doing much

Not trying to be prisoner of the moment on Booth. I’ve bee high on him for quite some time.

Y'all mean World Cup Goal Scorer Haji Wright?
Put some respect on the mans name
He'll get called in, because like Sargent he can be deployed on the wing or as a 9.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has offered to quit as Blackburn boss. The final straw, and one of many, was the failure to land Duncan McGuire from MLS side Orlando City due to an administrative error at Rovers’ end. He’s had enough of firefighting and seeing his best players leave. #Rovers
