Haha

I mean it's true. People always say "I just want my phone to work" insinuating that androids don't work well. My argument is that they work better for actual productivity and general usage. iOS isn't intuitive at all.

My post literally praised Android and said it was more fun, and then went on to explain that I was too locked into the Apple ecosystem

maybe I'm not tracking. This part threw me off.

"But now I just want stuff to function"

Yes because I'm old and all my other stuff is Apple

I genuinely first typed "I just want it to work" and changed it precisely to avoid the "it just works" fight.

I don't think you need to explain it. People get overly defensive about their chosen devices.

I like both platforms, but I'm still rocking an old iphone. I just don't need anything new and I ascribe to the belief that, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

One day I'll need a new phone, and when that time comes, it'll probably be a tried and true iphone. Not because it's "superior" but because changing platforms for anything other than necessity is just a novelty.

I wonder how much business Apple cost themselves by only working with ATT at first. To your point, I have never had ATT so I got Android and continued getting Android. And then it got to a point where I said frick it, let me try the iPhone X. I was too used to Android so I returned the iPhone

bullshite. I just told you I'm one of them. I've had AAPL stock since 2009 so I'm very happy with their performance

It was a bit of a tongue in cheek post but to say they didn't is nonsense.

And Android is? I have both and it's just a matter of getting used to each system

Absolutely. One of the most intuitive items ever created. It's just like using any non-apple computer.

Well, it's obvious then that you haven't tried to use Win 11

i feel bad for that now. i could barely keep the thing running with a random XDA rom and for someone technology-challenged it was alot just to use it like a phone. ?

Xda roms were awesome back in the day. Had one rom on the droid X that gave me 12+ hrs of battery. I used to flash different modems and get slightly better signal in places.

I miss when XDA was at its peak.

it took me months just to learn to read all those crazy arse ROM names and figure out what you needed. It was like ADD on steroids

Xda season was a blast. So many times I thought my phone was cooked, but I always found a way to get it working again.

Whatever takes 1 click on an Android takes 3 on an iphone. For instance, for the life of me, why can't iphone just add an "attach contact card" to a text message. Like it's stupid, you have to leave the text message, go to contacts, search for contact, and then hit share contact, type who you want to send it to and hit send.
On the other hand, you're in the text message on Android, hit add contact, search the contact and hit send.

Why apple? Why??? Why leave the text message to do something simple.

it should be in the + menu, no idea why they haven't done it, it is annoying

you can share specific contact info like phone number or email by holding the text box, clicking autofill, contacts, find contact then pick which part of the contact info to send.

Wonder if this type of thing is in a utility patent of some type like the one Apple had on one clicking phone numbers/emails/etc to call/email people. Samsung went to war over that one.

LOL at anyone calling either of these OSes not intuitive. Literal toddlers can pick these up and be using them effectively with very little effort. Exaggeration gone too far here.
