you mean the exact same thing apple does with its forced obsolescence of hardware? like, literally the exact same thing?
I guess I missed the part about Apple wanting $200.00 from gullible customers that they are actually still giving away for free...

Are you trying to upgrade the Microsoft OS on Microsoft hardware? Unless it's a Microsoft Surface then you're not. it's not apples to apples comparison.

no apple is more passive-aggressive than that. they just make the older hardware so slow its unusable when you update.

You seem to be just as dumb as this post.

Ugh. Probably, but is it priced at $200.00 or not? If it's priced lower do you have a link to their website that says that is available?
Maybe I won't be so dumb after I check your link...
ETA: It's been a few days dipshit, and I'm still waiting for that link...

I could give you a link that explains how to upgrade to Windows 10 for free but if you can't even figure out how to Google and find it then you probably won't understand the process anyway.

Or maybe you could learn to read instead. RIF. Comprehension is important...Does Microsoft charge $199 for an upgrade and do they let their customers know they don't have to pay it? Link please.

How?

Just updated 15 PC's in an office environment from 7 to 10. Didn't pay a dime.

To be even more fair, Apple more than makes up for that on the front end by forcing you to overpay for hardware.
"forcing"?
You are as bad as the OP.

And what about all the users Microsoft duped into paying $200.00?

Are those consumers any different than the Apple customers who accidentally click something in an app and get auto billed for nine months or until they realize it. Are they duped? This is a business, their job is to make money, if the consumer is too stupid to figure it out that’s their own fault.
A good windows laptop is $700.00, a good apple laptop is $2,000.00. Whether you want to admit it or not you’re paying more for the software with Apple.

Officially, the Free Upgrade thing has ended.
But there is still a way to do it.

Yes forcing. If you want to run MacOS (officially), you are forced to buy overpriced hardware.
Microsoft when an OS is no longer supported: pay for this software upgrade
Apple when an OS is no longer supported on your hardware: pay for this overpriced hardware in order to get this "free" software upgrade
