mingo is self-conscious nobody else wearing his whoop-do fitness tracker he has to invoke celebrity names and billion dollar figures to justify that he bought something

I was pointing out you were factually wrong…. Again

I don’t use the product and even if I did, you don’t own it, it’s a subscription model. More evidence to the fact you don’t know what it is.

Whoop is fairly expensive and they’re very much a tech company (I mean that kind of in a bad way everything feels a little over the top) but it’s a good product, I used it for about 3 years.

Right, you wrong. I didn’t buy it and I haven’t used it for years. I have no vested in the company, but it’s a good product and it’s not going anywhere for a long time like you originally opined.

You certainly don’t know about one of the biggest emerging ones in the space, that you’ve made abundantly clear

I second this. If you're really looking to upgrade for better fitness info yet still want smartwatch capabilities, a Garmin is for you. Forerunner series is setup for running but supports a ton of other activities such as HIIT, cycling, rowing, even Pilates.

Depends on the entire scope of what you want the watch to do. If this is primarily fitness, then either Whoop or Garmin. Hell, maybe even an Oura ring.

If you want to do some fitness, get texts, phone calls, stock alerts, weather alerts, and other bullshite, then get an apple watch.

I do amateur, kinda almost elite cycling. I do NOT wear my watch when I work out. I use a HR monitor and upload that data from my garmin computer into Strava/Garmin/etc... From there, the data uploads into an app I use called Athlytic which is the poor man's whoop. It uses the sleep from my apple watch, my HRV from apple watch, and combines that with the strain of my work outs from other sources (strava/garmin).

I do wear my watch when I do weights and HITT stuff, but even then I still wear a HR strap for total accuracy.

Can’t really wear it during all exercise, disqualifies it for me

I used to race competitively as a Cat 2 (near Cat 1) cyclist across the southeast, but then kids happen. Now I'm just a fitness dude that likes to grind it out on the bike 3-4 days a week.

it means the motherfricker put out 1,000 watts for 30 seconds when taking a race in a bunch sprint.

eta and

Cycling been around for over a century. Is valued probably around a billion dollars and has investment (which includes marketing from American brands like Cannondale and Trek) from the likes of Lance Armstrong, Greg LeMond….

You certainly don’t know about one of the biggest emerging sports in the space, that you’ve made abundantly clear.

its ok to admit you don't know anything about competitive cycling. Athletic sports aren't for everyone.

Just say you weren’t aware of the competitive sport of cycling, it’s fine.
