I never have, but I imagine it'd be fun to see some ski racing in person. They absolutely fly down the mountain.

ABasin posted a lovely picture of the East Wall from today. Had to trace my route. Bout a 45min to an hour trek up Willies Wide staircase to Snorkel Door staircase then traversed and sidestep climbed on our skis. Ski patrols tracks on lookers right side of the chute. Our two tracks are the only others straight down the pipe.

Just bought my RMSP+ for next season and read about Intrawest selling to Aspen. Will be interesting to see what changes are made to the RMSP+ going forward based on this sale.

Just hope we get a new gondola out of this deal. And some more mountains on our pass. Trying to decide what I'm buying next year.

The lineup could be:
ABasin
Collective
Steamboat

Abasin has a midweek pass for $219 that's a steal. Or a full pass with 3 days to Taos for $319.

I didn't use Vail resorts enough to buy it next year. ABasin has my heart and I'll forever spend my spring times exploring every corner and crack of that mountain. Especially with new terrain coming.

Steamboat doesn't translate to great spring skiing. Spring is for steep and tight.

Trying to ski Buffalo Mountain this week. If you've ever driven I70 through summit, it's that giant round mountain behind Silverthorne outlets. Gonna skin up and ski one of the 50 classic ski descents of America according to Chris Davenport.

Ended up skiing Jackson hole and Park City this year. Have you ever been up to Big Sky?

Solid spots. I've never been to Big Sky. My twin brother lives in Bozeman, but didn't get to make it up this season.

Later in the season is the time to go from what I've heard, but each season is different.

Aspen/KSL is making moves. Bought Mammoth this morning.

Mammoth cashing out on the big snow year. Wonder what this will do for lift prices.

I still have 2 mammoth lift passes to use. Hoping to go at the end of the month or first weekend in May.

I think it'll help season pass prices and maybe slightly inflate day ticket prices.

Steamboat is already $1400 for a season pass, and $165 for a day ticket. Can't get much worse for us. If we get mountains added to our pass, then it's a win for Steamboat pass holders. Currently, we only have access to Steamboat with our pass.

Bought Mountain Collective a few weeks ago for next season. It made me select which mountain I wanted to ski a 3rd day. You had to make a selection to complete the purchase.

Is that binding or can I change later? I have no idea which mountains I'm going to ski, much less which one I want the extra day.

I can't comment on that. Not sure how the collective works for the 3rd day. You would hope they give ya some flexibility.

Hit day 100 for the season yesterday. Skinned up to the top of Buffalo Mountain in Silverthorne and ski'd the Silver Couloir, which is rated a top 50 ski descent in the US by Chris Davenport. Couldn't be more stoked about it.

If you've ever driven 70 through Summit County, you've stared at Buffalo.

This April has been the best month of skiing in my life. Just got back from a hut trip south of Cameron Pass in the Lake Agnes area. It snowed 20"+ from Thursday night to Friday morning. I skinned in right when it started snowing and then just dumped overnight. Kept snowing another 5-6" on Friday during the day.

We toured in low angle, low risk terrain on Friday for avy reasons and we couldn't see very well above tree line. Made for a fun day. Definitely deepest overnight snow I've ski'd.

Then Saturday it turned blue and we made our way to the saddle of Mt. Richthofen and Mahler where a nice bowl of delicious powder awaited our group. Made two laps and wish I made a 3rd. But had a nice powder ski back to the hut after.

Will post more pictures soon but here's me on the skin track after our first laps pow turns are painted on the bowl.

On the skin in.

Gave ABasin a warm up for ya, Cosmo. Conditions were great. Got to show one of my Steamboat friends around which was a good time.

Got to ski into 2nd Notch. Entrance is normally too rocky. It was just snowy enough to straight line in.

I'll be at the Basin Sunday, possibly. If I am there, I'll be with the big giant ski butlers vans parked on the beach having a huge party.

Heads up: Sadly, the epicski website will no longer be available after April 28th.

There are amazing nuggets of information and guides re: mountains and resorts on there...from big mountain resorts to small local mountains. Some guides are VERY specific. Over 15 years worth of experiences on that site---Extremely helpful for all levels.

I have been archiving as much as I can, especially info involving mountains I haven't been to yet. Would encourage anyone interested in that kinda stuff to do the same ASAP!

Nice..I'll be heading there this weekend. Probably the last time unless they have some cheap lift tickets in late may or June.

Was the mountain crowded? I'm skiing saturday and it's usually a shitshow there.
