It makes no sense that people are still required to wear masks on airplanes, yet are allowed to congregate in crowded restaurants, schools and at sporting events without masks, despite none of these venues having the protective air filtration system that aircraft do,” the business executives wrote.

So infuriating. All that air on planes is filtered already, change of catching while flying basically 0

Just found out I have to go to MN next week. Ordered some of these. Hopefully they're a little more comfortable than most.

I hate to break it to you but it’ll be extended again beyond May 2.

They flat out say they are extending it to wait and see if numbers go up. Which they can do forever. They want them to go up.

They will have to keep it through the summer travel season.

I would now place money on it not ending until October, right before the midterms.

Posted on Poli in same thread...

I was on a flight last night out of SFO... Pilot came out front to make his normal announcement so he could see everyone. Outside of flight time and weather, it went like this...

"We enjoy flying, so in order to do that, we have to adhere to the mandate... We are getting info its going to be extended again... Like you all, we're ready for this to go away... And its funny that the TSA lobbied the CDC to extend it... Tell me how that works... If you are sick of this, write your congressman and tell them to end it"

The amount of control fedgov has over the airline industry really makes you wonder just how "deregulated" it is.

My last 2 months of flying have been pretty laid back. Out of 8 flights, only heard 1 FA say something about masks up after the pre-packaged speech before takeoff.

Most FA's dont give a shite, unless they are a Karen.

You might be misunderstanding what "deregulation" means. The term is only used with regard to commercial rates and route maps. At one time, common carriers could not choose (or let the market determine) fares and and routes. They asked the gov't permission, got approval, and were told what to charge. It was a disaster.
