Anywhere interesting in the general Cleveland / Pittsburgh area?

So - taking the kid to Disney for spring break next year and going to Australia for the Women's World Cup in 2023.
Looking for something for summer vacation next year that wouldn't break the bank and/or consume a full two weeks of vacation time.
I saw a travel-type show on ACC Network about Pittsburgh and it actually looked okay(ish).
Could I make a family vacation out of Pittsburgh, and maybe something like Cuyahoga Valley NP and Cedar Point?
Any interesting towns to stay in? What kind of stuff could I work into a one week itinerary?

I had fun in Cleveland like 4 years ago but went as a single guy

Cedar Point?
Was going to recommend this. If you go midweek, you can probably get the regular park in twice and the water park in once.
Haven’t spent much time in either area, we did Cedar Point as a breaking point t between Chicago & Niagara

If you expand the area, Hershey is about 4 hours east of Pittsburgh.

Pro Football Hall of Fame is kind of in between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. If your kids are old enough to appreciate history/museum type stuff and like football it is a great place to spend a few hours.

Hershey is a good shout - I was trying to think of somewhere between Cedar Point and Pittsburgh, but Hersheypark might fit the bill. My daughter will be 7 next summer, so Cedar Point might be ambitious anyway.
I've been to Canton, Akron and Cleveland for work before - Canton/Akron might actually work as a central location.

White Water Adventurers is the leading rafting outfitter in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania. Just two hours from Pittsburgh, experience, feel, and hear the roar of the river beneath your whitewater raft. Experience a whitewater getaway with White Water Adventurers Ohiopyle, PA.
The Flight 93 Memorial is about an hour from Ohiopyle too.

Now we're cooking!
(The rafting thing, though I would be interested in going to Shanksville.)

Are you staying in Cleveland or Pittsburg as your OP indicates mostly Pittsburgh

I haven't decided on a location, just kicking the tires on the general area.

Are you going single or as a family?
Cleveland obviously has the Browns, Hard Rock Museum, Christmas Story home, then you gave stuff to do on the Lake, Cleveland Indians your, plenty of bars and breweries, etc

This would be summer vacation with wife and elementary-aged daughter.
Forgot about the Christmas Story house - that might fly as well.
Start adding up that, the RnR HOF and the NFL HOF, Cedar Point, Cuyahoga Valley, the rafting place posted up thread - starting to get something cooking here.
I've been to Cleveland for work, so I've seen the absolute minimum of the area.

You also have the sports area where kids can bowl, play pool, etc while you drink

Here's what I would do: Get a cabin at Ted's in Marblehead. Spend a day or two at Cedar Point. Charter a fishing boat and catch some walleye in Marblehead. Then decamp for Put-In-Bay island for a few days. Think Gatlinburg in the middle of Lake Erie and you've got it.
RNR HOF was boring for me. Cuyahoga NP was also pretty boring.

Fallingwater (the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright house) is right outside Ohiopyle, Gomer.

I was there in August and also took a pic in that spot! I highly recommend Fallingwater, but not sure if a 7 year old would be interested. She would probably enjoy riding the Incline near downtown Pittsburg.

In Pittsburgh take the Duquesne lift up to Mt Washington for lunch or dinner. It’s a beautiful sight overlooking the city. The Carnegie Museums are all really good. Esp Natural History. Also Pittsburgh is only 3.5 hrs from Niagara Falls.
