My trip is of secondary importance to all of my Louisiana family! Hope this bitch Ida goes away. Makes me sick to see my home state have this happen again 16 years to the day of Katrina.
Question is, will it even be possible in three weeks? Customers are asking me. As a LA native, It was my idea to set up the trip.

I am thinking best to cancel this trip? Don’t want 20 people to be in way of clean up. Was Venice area hit badly?
Will you probably head down to help family members clean up in Houma area.

You should check with the guide. We went to Venice years ago about 6 weeks after Katrina hit. I called to cancel for the same reason you mentioned and the guide begged us not to cancel. He needed the money. We went and the guide was happy. So were we as we caught limits of big trout and big redfish and there were 10 of us fishing.

Does anyone know the status of towns like Venice, Buras etc……? We have a fishing trip
Scheduled in two weeks. Cannot get in touch with guides. Our trip Is obviously secondary to the recovery…… just trying to figure out what to do as I have 20 people asking me what the plan is for the trip.

This. OP they are going to need money and work. They are going to want to get back to working asap. If you can go, they are most likely going to want you to be there.
But the first thing will be if you CAN go.
Also, what are you doing for lodging? Everything outside of the actual fishing with the guide such as food and lodging may be the most difficult. But the guide should be able to help you here.

One idea, if you can figure out logistics of lodging etc., cut the fishing short, pay for the full trip and volunteer to help with clean up or cooking.

Stexas……. I am planning to stay extra days to help after the customers go home. Just wondering if customers should even go at all.

If I was a customer and you shared with me that you intended to hang around and work, I would not only be impressed with the humanitarian effort but I would likely want to help.
