Florida - beach vacation with multiple families (young kids)

I’d be curious to know if anyone has any recommendations for staying on the beach in a cluster of small rental houses so that each family can have their own space but then congregate on the beach. Bonus would be if there were biking trails like watercolor has. Basically watercolor but you wouldn’t need to drive a golf cart to get to the beach
ETA this would be with a bunch of young kids

Check the islands off the western coast: Longboat Key, Anna Maria, Sanibel or Marco Island

Thanks for the recs! Looking for something a bit closer to the panhandle as we would all be driving with young children

Find a big house in Seagrove and all stay together. They have some just off the beach, but behind private gates…with private beach access. You’d have a pool, amazing kitchen to hang out in…4 couples to spend ~$2.5k/wk…you’re in.
Something like this:

Pretty sure that’s Bobby Bowdin’s house.
ETA: damn that place is expensive now, I think it was $10.8k for the week when we stayed there…years ago.

You can ride bikes just about anywhere along 30a and I agree Watercolor is a pain to get to and from the beach. If you can afford Watercolor, you can afford Rosemary and it’s a much easier walk to the beach but has enough neighborhood to ride bikes.
Seagrove has a bunch of options and if you stay off Eastern Lake, you’re south of 30a and don’t get a ton of traffic. A few of the roads aren’t paved so they’re similar to a bike path with barely any traffic.

We did exactly this, this summer on St. George Island. You can get houses on the beach, and there is a long bike trail.

Cape San blas… don’t tell anyone though. There are only 2 condo places, barrier dunes and sea cliffs. I prefer sea cliffs. No high rises there. Can do bonfires on beach.

There are smaller houses close to the beach in Navarre.

What exactly are you looking for and enjoy? Do you want it to be upscale like watercolor? Do you want it to have nice restaurants, shopping, other activities for kids?
There really aren't other 30As if you want 30a. But there are quite a few other areas that are lesser known that don't have the big names on 30A that you may be able to find what you are looking for.
If you just want a nice beach, with decent water, and less people you certainly have other options outside of 30A.
But again you have to know what all you actually "need". Taking multiple families that travel to 30a or a couple years somewhere else, imo is asking for trouble as one of them at least likely won't like it at all.
