Headed to Tampa for the Outback Bowl....staying in downtown St. Pete.

Looking for restaurant recommendations and family friendly things to do for myself, wife (no pics), and two boys ages 12 and 9.

Thanks in advance.

Paul Allen is right. Hyde Park area in Tampa especially during Christmas time is really nice.

Original Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City is good. 1908 salad is great there. A lot of people will steer you to Bern’s Steakhouse and its desert room.

We really like Downtown St. Pete. It’s really growing. Renaissance Vinoy Hotel is neat to check out. It’s haunted.

BellaBrava in downtown is pretty good for Italian. Chicken parm is really good there. The Mill is good. Engine Nine is good for burgers. Second and second and wooden rooster are good breakfast places. Lots of local breweries in downtown area as well.

Your boys will really like the beaches in that area. Hopefully, it’s not too cold. Family rode horses in Tampa Bay near the Skyway due the summer. Really fun. I don’t know if that will be available.

If you and your wife can get out one night, the Floridian usually has pretty good live music. Really neat theater venue that just reopened. It’s on Central.

Have fun.

Explore a little and go to Ybor City and Tarpon Springs. Try
The Rusty Belly in Tarpon Springs. Good place.

Ybor City has a bunch of bars and restaurants. There was also a free trolley service in that area when we went.

Rent the eboats downtown TPA and cruise the Hillsborough River. There is always Busch Gardens for the kids.

Piggy-backing (see what I did there) off the Ybor City posts, there's a parade and pep rally with both teams' bands, cheerleaders in Ybor City the night before the game. Watch for flying beads.
If you're in the area, it's a good time.
