So the Sandestin Hilton is not allowing Louisiana residents to check in due to the governor's quarantine mandate. We were scheduled to check in tomorrow and only found out by looking at the comments on the FB page.

Wife is pissed, kids are in tears. WTF

Are you allowed to check in on your phone? That'd be one way of avoiding the front desk. Or can you change the address on the reservation?

Hotels and resorts are supposed to be exempt from this mandate. I would call the hotel and speak to someone before canceling.

Yeah we have asked them about that exception but they are holding firm that they are unable to accommodate those traveling from states listed on DeSantis' travel restrictions. Our plan is to hold onto the reservation as long as possible in hopes there is an announcement today.

We booked the Hampton inn in PCB and they are allowing us to check in. I’m not crazy about going to Panama City but it’s a newer property and better than nothing.

PCB has come a long ways since the 90s spring break days. It’s much nicer now especially the pier park area.

Most hotels seem like they are.

After talking to a Hilton rep, it is not Hilton that is enforcing this. The Sandestin Hilton is privately owned and has come up with this crazy shite on their own.

Doesn’t make much sense and as everything it needs more clarification.

In phase 1 he won’t approve New York but perhaps another state but in phase 2 only Florida residents.

I’m booked in Rosemary for 2 weeks starting Saturday the 23rd. My host just called saying that the building won’t allow short term rentals until Monday the 25th, Memorial Day. Does that sound right?

I thought itt was very encouraging. Sounds like condo rental services have to submit a detail plan on how they will ensure the safety of their rental properties and hope to be open in a couple weeks

Not encouraging to LA residents looking to rent before June 1 (Memorial Day Weekend, namely).

I am booked with a large national chain hotel in Miramar Beach, but also have a condo booked in Orange Beach as a hedge.

Our first choice is the Hotel. Should I call and ask? I would rather not give them a heads up I’m coming from Louisiana so they could potentially change their mind. Kinds just show up and check in.

It will ultimately depend on how quickly the governors office processes the request.

I read the letter Walton county sent to him, and it was very detailed (lots of statistics) showing how big tourism is for the county. Like 2/3 of the tax revenue is from tourism.
