Where Would You Travel?

My wife (no pics) and I have a waiver of $950 each for Delta that expires at the end of this year. Looking to figure out where the best bang for our buck will be to use these credits. They were originally for Ireland before Covid ruined that but we’re unsure of trying that again. What would you recommend?

Almost get you back to Europe at that level.
Do you want to travel domestically?
Internationally?
Budget? Where do you think you might want to go? What time of year? Lots of questions to answer first!!

Many choices.
Paris is never a wrong answer.
Neither is Italy.

Here's an easy question:
Where do you really want to go?

If I had a $950 credit per person I’d be heading somewhere in Europe. Where depends on your personal preference.
I’d like to do Ireland/Scotland, Germany, or Portugal.

how do you still have that voucher?
I had a flight to Amsterdam through Delta/KLM for the wife and I for $950. The flight there wasn't cancelled, but we didn't take it b/c Covid had just started. The flight returning was cancelled after Trump said no more flights into the US.
THey gave me a voucher for 1 year to use, which was worthless considering the year of Covid.
I went through the process of submitting a claim through the department of transportation and was denied a refund or voucher.
$1,900 down the drain.

If you wanted to go to Ireland, go to Ireland. I checked flights from Houston (I don't know where you are), and you can get RT economy flights into Shannon for between $920 and $1600, the worst prices are on Saturdays for an 8 day trip. I picked the second week of August at random.
The only caveat is that hotels are pricier during tourist season (summer).
If you need more time to plan, I'd hit almost anywhere in Europe, especially when the winter markets open in cities and towns. It's going to tend to be overcast, but the holiday season seems to make everyone a bit more congenial. For versatility, the Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris stretch are short train rides from each other, enabling you to get a lot of variety even in a little over a week.

Europe is the answer for me. The dollar is super strong against the euro right now so things are cheap in Europe. I am in Spain typing this and we will have 3 drinks each and enough tapas to fill us up and it's $30. And the food is amazing in Spain

We decided that we will be doing a Mediterranean cruise out of Rome. We can hit quite a few ports like Nice, Pisa, Barcelona, and a few more that I can’t remember

Wait for a special and let that decide my destination.

I hesitate visiting France (especially Paris) with the civil
unrest that is happening there now.
