Report: The LSU Coaching Search Is Down To Three Finalist

Update: LSU Set To Hire Arizona Coach Jay Johnson As Its New Baseball Coach

Glenn Guilbeau of the Daily Advertiser is reporting that the LSU coaching search is down to three finalists; Arizona coach Jay Johnson, East Carolina coach Cliff Godwin and Notre Dame coach Link Jarrett.

All three finalists have reportedly been interviewed.

Godwin, 43, was interviewed by Woodward on Thursday in Birmingham, Alabama, on the same day Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco interviewed there. Bianco announced Sunday that he was removing his name. No offers have yet been made by Woodward, the sources said.

Glenn Guilbeau is such a credible reporter that last week he reported that a press conference would be called to announce Mike Bianco would be announced as the new LSU Baseball Coach. Yeah right.

Godwin has been my first choice since CPM announced. He is a slam dunk and obviously knows recruiting here. Cain would be neutralized.

Based off of this article I wouldn't call them three finalists. More like three official candidates at this point. Coaches at the CWS haven't had the opportunity for official meetings yet.

Why do you say that? Just looking for help cause it’s a crap shoot. Goodwin is my fav but I also think several others would be championship ready and link Jarrett is the one I know least about! I do like johnson from Arizona as well
