While on SportsCenter, Kirk Herbstreit talked about the Arch Manning's commitment could mean for the Texas Longhorns program...
quote:

“It’s big because not only do you get Arch Manning, but we all know how this is going to impact tight ends, receivers, running backs who are all going to want to play with him,” Herbstreit said, via Saturday Down South.

“I keep going back to Sark,” Herbstreit said. “You can count on one hand how many offensive minds have an ability to put a quarterback in a position to have success the way Steve Sarkisian can as a play-caller and the way he designs plays. He’s a guy that ultimately knows how to attack. I’m sure the relationship that he had with the family had a lot to do with this.”

That kid has no hope of living up to the expectation

For the hype he's getting, you'd figure he is going to be considered a bust if he doesn't win 3 national championships and a couple of Heismans.

It's a verbal commitment. The National suckfest is ridiculous

Herbstreit's take is irrelevant

Sark did impress me with the plays he had and the timing but that was as an OC and he did have talent at Bama. I think the jury is still out as to whether being HC is too much for him

They need to get by Kansas first...

It takes more than a QB to win a championship. Just look at UGA last season, no one would argue they had the best, or even close, QB in the country but they were the ones hoisting the trophy after the NC game. It's a team sport

Good luck to Arch, but Texas is still going to be getting shellacked on the regular.

Ron pawlus 2.0. So much hype that an incompletion is ridiculed.

I remember watching one ND game ( waiting for the Bama game to start) and the play by play guy made the comment about Paulus " it's like watching Zeus throw lightening bolts" ... I kind of felt bad for Paulus. I also quit watching after that

I would bet my life on this kid is going to be a bust. I bet he doesn't even play a full year for the Horns. His whole recruitment has been a clown show imagine when he gets on campus to the parties and money. It will be game over.

He kinda already is a bust. He literally has the most bland stats of ANY player that has ever been ranked #1. If his name wasn't Manning, he wouldn't be top 20....period

Agree with LSUSaint........His film is good BUT, not a #1 pick overall. He had better have a good set of fast, quick, agile, wheels or he will be in big trouble early.
