I know there are a few people on YouTube who have done this, but anyone on this board?

I've read:
The Long Walk
The Green Mile
Carrie
Bag of Bones (favorite)
The Shining (his best, IMO)
The Stand
Rage

I'm currently halfway through 11.22.63 which may surpass Bag of Bones as my favorite.

Anyone read them or have close to all?

I read the Dark Tower series, and I've read The Stand.

The Stand was meh.

I enjoyed most of the Dark Tower series, but in typical King fashion, he shits all over the ending and insults the reader in the process.

I haven't had an interest in reading any of his other stuff. Plus, he seems to be a shitty person in real life.

The Shining
The Stand (my personal favorite)
The Long Walk
The Dead Zone
Firestarter
Cujo
The Running Man
Christine
Pet Sematary
The Talisman
It
Misery
The Tommyknockers
Needless Things
Delores Claiborne
Insomnia
Desperation
Dreamcatcher
Everything's Eventual
Duma Key
Under the Dome
If it Bleeds
Later
Billy Summer
11/22/63

I started losing interest after Misery.Plus as I get older, horror and supernatural novels don't appeal to me like they used to.

Read a lot of them. The Stand is my personal favorite. 11/22/63 probably next. Also really like The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Haven’t cared as much for a lot of the newer stuff, though Billy Summers was pretty good.

The Dark Tower
It
The Stand
11-22-63
Cujo
Carrie
Mr. Mercedes
The Tommyknockers
Misery
Pet Sematary
Eyes of The Dragon
Insomnia
Christine
Thinner
The Green Mile
The dead zone
The long walk
Dreamcatcher
The outsider
Salems lot
Doctor Sleep
Fire starter
End of watch
Skeleton Crew
Finders keepers
The shining

I know I’m forgetting about several that I’ve read

What? The first book was the best. The part where he is on the plane and looks in the mirror had me hooked. Later books it starts to drag but not in no. 1.

Salem's Lot
The Stand
Night Shift
Fire Starter
Road Work
Running Man
Thinner
Different Seasons
The Dark Half
Four Past Midnight
Insomnia (this one absolutely sucked--his worst)
The Green Mile
Mr. Mercedes (no magic for once but kind of predictable)
The Outsider (best of his recent stuff)
The Dark Tower series (several great books with one unimpressive ending).
Under The Dome (another terrible ending)

He's hit or miss, and i enjoy the short story collections the most

I actually enjoyed Insomnia

Now if you want to read a complete pile of shite go check out Tommyknockers.

Cocaine King in all of his fricking glory on that one.

Rage

did you have a physical copy or read online? I've never been a big King guy but I remember even as a teenager hearing all about the controversy about Rage and it's banning and how it's super elusive to ever find. I think I'd want to read it someday simply for the scarcity factor if nothing else.

And despite not being a big King (or horror in general) guy, funnily enough, I'm reading Salem's Lot right now. I had just finished a different book last week and was at the bookstore wandering aimlessly and saw it and figured what the hell. I know it is highly regarded and I've seen it mentioned on this board many times as being one of King's best so decided to give it a go. I'm about a quarter of the way in right now and enjoying it.

Rage is one of the Bachman books, along with The Running Man, Roadwork and The Long Walk. I love his short stories and novellas too and The Long Walk is right at the top IMO with Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption.

You're right. I was thinking of The Drawing Of The Three. Was hooked at that point.

Not even close I buy most of my books at cheap bookstores and there’s rarely any Stephen King books. Them’s the breaks, I guess. I would very much like to read more of his work though.

Yeah, Drawing of the three is his best novel IMO, though I'd say a couple of his short story collections are his best overall (Night Shift in particular).

The first Gunslinger book ia solid, not amazing. 2-4 are fantastic, even if the last three sucked.

If you have a Half Price Books store near you they usually have a good selection of his and other authors. I got most of my collection of his books from here when I lived in Chicago.

Same here. Her story became a chore. The alcoholic priest was also a drag.

I’ve read every novel he’s written, even the weird non-horror stuff. Even his bad books are typically readable. From Carrie in ‘74 to Misery in ‘87 he was pumping out classic after classic. A little more hit and miss since then. The Colorado Kid was stupid with no ending. Loved the Dark Tower series, though it’s not for everyone. Under the Dome was probably the biggest book of his that I hated - just an awful ending with no real explanation.
