What's the opinion on Greg Iles?

Started reading Southern Man last night. To say he is a progressive is an understatement.

Some of his early works are excellent, but later on he got into more progressivism

Southern Man is straight up TDS garbage. I finished it out of respect for the rest of the Penn Cage saga, but now know he's a self loathing white progressive hack.

Yeah even fictional works need to be somewhat believable to hold my interest. Iles got to the point in his later writings that Penn Cage seemed like a Superman/Batman/Spiderman hybrid.

Yeah, I've only read one of his but it was so absurdly over the top with political stereotypes and basic hole plots that doubt I'll ever read another book of his again.
