the big money boosters not being able to GTFO of their own way. Got Lowder off the BOT, then what?

I say this with complete honesty as an outsider. They biggest problem with Auburn's football program is that the guys who want to control football are on the BOT. And they donate a ton to gubernatorial campaigns to ensure that they get to control which member of the club gets appointed. From that position they can literally do anything they want.

Not shocking. Rumored to be in part because of not getting full staff control. At this point, I wouldn’t be shocked if he waits to leave for the biggest job, Alabama.

With Sark I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to stay as an OC. Some guys enjoy being a coordinator a lot more.

This is mostly a myth. Clemsons DC is the only modern real example of this.

LSU fans told themselves this lie for years with Aranda. These dudes want to compete with the best and want to be the best.

Both examples you brought up were guys that hadn’t been a HC before, Sark has and knows what it’s like.

Guess Napier didn't learn much from Hudspeth.

Didn’t he interview for a couple jobs last season? Seems like he’s not content at the coordinator level

There are also some who are patient enough, and enjoy it enough to wait until they get exactly the situation they want. Venables is. Kirby was. I think Sark probably is, too, at this point. He's not going to take a position where boosters call him at home in the middle of the night to tell him how he should do his job.

But if you are interviewing that means you are looking at the opportunity doesn’t sound like someone who wants to be Monte Kiffin for the rest of their life

I never said he was interested in that. What I was saying was he’s looked around and turned down multiple opportunities, meaning I think he is happy in that role. Doesn’t mean he always will be or won’t entertain offers to see if any excite him.

That’s kind of a big risk to wait that long at a G5 school. Saban very well may coach another decade. I honestly don’t know what he’d be waiting on if the Auburn job isn’t good enough for a guy to break into P5. Those elite P5 jobs don’t come open very often and he may not be the guy they end up wanting.

You think they should fire Napier? That’s a top-10 dumbest idea on this site this year

Nope... I do not! All I am saying is I don't see a drop off if they hire Gus in the event Napier leaves.

Anyone think this is all on purpose so the boosters can end up with who they really want, Steele?
