re: CBK will get full $54M over 6 years

He was NEVER going to get 54 million.
it may not all come from LSU, but his contract guarantees he’ll make that much over the next 6 years
the fact remains that he’s 64, and LSU has effectively damaged his reputation by claiming that he is lazy and unmotivated, and is now considered litigious and combative with his employers
he’ll be lucky to get a 3 year $10 million deal, which means LSU will be on the hook for “only” the remaining $44 million
i also predict that Kiff won’t take anything less than either a 100% guaranteed deal or one with no mitigation

He has to accept a fair market value contract. He can’t take the BC job for a million a year.

What’s LSU gonna do if he doesn’t get a job offer? File suit, subpoena other AD ‘s and try to get testimony about their hiring process?
If we frickin feel like it, yeah.

Remove Jeff Landry, and everything goes a lot smoother,

Seems pretty apparent to me that he doesn't want to coach again

That story was already out there.

BK has all the leverage now. Threatening to fire with cause was LSU’s trump card and BK called their bluff. If he wants to keep coaching, they’ll likely settle. If he doesn’t, LSU might be fricked for the next 6 years.

If so the last guy made 7 million a year. Let's say he signs a 4 year deal. LSU amount just went down to 26 million. Hes gonna settle. And he SHOULD have taken the 35 million they offered
There is no coaching job Kelly can get that will pay him more than the buyout, so why wouldn't he just take a lowball offer with a contract that ups his NIL budget instead?

Why?
He has to actively search for work if he wants that monthly check.
He'll ask for a settlement when he's tired of searching.

Has to be fair market value.

I’m sure proving bad faith will be difficult, but that doesn’t mean they won’t pursue it.

Lol, BK won.
How did he win? He’s getting what the contract requires, including his obligation to look for work “in good faith”. Winning would have been LSU caving to his $43M negotiated settlement offer.

LSU fans said that. The school never did.

That’s on Kelly, not LSU.

What if he wants to go into media. Then what?

So you imagine a lawsuit from the job that fired him, on the basis that he should be paid more going well?
Guys the agents won this round. Accept and move on

Oh my GOD! You mean his agent will have to keep a call log? What an inconvenience.
