Yeah they shouldn’t have released anything. That statement made a non-ideal/bad situation even worse. They should have said nothing and let the speculation continue as is for next week.
OM AD may be a great dude, don’t know, but I was puzzled at why they put out that statement.
Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a serious and angry fan backlash at the AD the next couple days.

He is probably the best AD we have ever had. This is the first major misstep he has made. If we have a backup plan ready to go, he will be fine.
