so now it is publicly available what it takes UF or OM to match our offer and maybe beat it?

Making the offer public hurts LSU in several ways. Don't understand leaking that unless it's Sexton trying to get Ole Miss or Florida to match.

However, the coach’s true intent remains a mystery — even to those closest to him, as he decides between staying in Oxford or leaving for open jobs at LSU or Florida.

How did he burn "that bridge"?
I posted it later but we had been bidding with y’all and Florida, were given numbers to hit at least 3 times and told “hit this and he is staying”. We did it each time and every time, Sexton and Lane wouldn’t commit then come back with a higher number.

Today was the last day for him to commit apparently. When he didn’t, we had multiple big donors say they won’t honor their NIL pledges if he is still the coach. So legally we can’t suspend him, but the offer he had in front of him from us is effectively null and void.

who coaches the team in the playoffs IF he were to leave after the Egg Bowl?
Probably Joe Judge

Do you really think that Sexton wouldn’t shop the numbers that he was given if there are legit other suitors willing to match?

If we have a backup plan ready to go, he will be fine.

This why I think they said the decision will be announced after the Egg Bowl. Gives Ole Miss time to get their ducks in a row for the postseason + hiring a new HC. Assuming Lane is an actually leaving and isn’t run out of Oxford before then

But I agree… the AD didn’t need to make a statement at all. Could get everything figured out this week without today’s announcement.

Multiple big boosters have already told Carter they aren’t going to honor their NIL commitments if he is still our coach.

That is still up for debate. When discussion began on the details, there was talk that there’s still ambiguity on how collectives factor in.

There are some states where collective legislation potentially conflicts with the enforcement system, but the expectation is that all NIL deals- including those brokered by the collectives- will be subject to the Deloite clearinghouse.

Here is a good article on it from The Athletic:

Thanks ! Any thoughts as to who / how many of his current staffers leave with him, regardless of where he goes?

Or he could just tell them, considering he’s the one handling the negotiations. If these numbers are real, all three schools were aware of them well before Ross Dellenger tweeted them out

Thinking it has to be in the 34 million range. That’s what AYS was saying.
