Then you are blind as frick if you haven’t seen the defense improving all season especially these last two games they’re starting to finally gel

Sure it has improved but it's gone from awful to competent. Nothing he has done is worth keeping

What Daronte is doing is not something special. It’s not even good defense

That's just flagrantly not true. I'm not saying he's the next superstar DC, but he is dialing up exotic blitzes and consistently confusing opposing QBs. Why he wasn't doing this before I don't know (though I have O related theories), but what we've seen this past two week is a good scheme and a good defense. Maybe slightly hyperbolic, but Chizik didn't say that Jones would be a Broyles candidate if he had played this scheme from day 1. People can't run on it, the DBs are making plays when they're put on islands, and despite being run blitzes they're still getting pass pressure consistently. Bama may be down, but they're not THAT down.

I agree on Jones! The "D" is performing even with backup players! Right now, other than that, there are no bright spots with the Tigers aside from some great effort on the part of a few individual players on both sides of the line.

That’s basically what the OP said. Said he would support the new coach if he decided to keep him

Nothing about someone suggesting to him to keep the DC or being forced

He has zero excuses for what transpired in the first half of the season. ZERO

What Georgia did to the hogs was special. I want that kind of defense.

Nope

Everybody on this current staff needs to go. It’s time for a complete culture change in the football program.

Leftovers have the potential to divide the program.

You don’t think Daronte with that talent and personnel would produce similar results

He probably won't get retained by a new coach

As it should be. You don't bring in a new head coach and then tell him which members of the former coach's staff he has to keep.

Jones has seemingly gotten better over the past couple of games, but you don't retain a coach who took 8 games to finally realize that putting pressure on opposing QBs is a good thing.

As has been said multiple times, the culture of LSU's football program needs a complete overhaul.
