We will never know where LSU would be had Alleva hired Aranda instead of Coach O.......but I still love the Kelly hire. Time to move on.......

Baylor had the worse QB on the field last night and still dominated that game. Baylor also beat OK State, which is a very good well coached team. Baylor completely relies on a defense for its wins. They have very little talent on the offensive side of the ball and won the Big 12 and Sugar Bowl. Aranda is a damn genius and very likable person to boot.

Dave will be successful wherever he goes. Hopefully we can hire him back in about 10 years.

2 offensive TD's a 40 yards passing!!!!!!! Looked like Jordon Jefferson led team! Painful to watch! He will have to upgrade the O for sure!

4 quarters of Corral would have presented a different game. BTW I like what coach Aranda has and is doing.

I understand your point, but you also have to realize that this game was dictated by Aranda vs. Durkin. Two very good defensive coaches.

First, I was neither an O pumper nor hater when he was hired. I had hoped for another coach. But as they fell off the board, I became okay with and a wait and see for O.

Second, O and his staff recruited their arses off and set up the BEST YEAR OF TIGER FOOTBALL, 2019. Without O, there was no Burrow. Without receivers and a competent line Burrow is not Burrow. Without a run game, LSU would not have been the balanced offensive machine it was. And without the defense, 2019 is not the 2019 we all love. O gave us 2019.

Third, pre and post 2019 O are two different people. There was upheaval in his personal life, divorce. And professionally he became more arrogant and complacent. He was not the same coach, and I supported his replacement.

The shame was hiring Orgeron.

No. O gave us 2019.
The shame was the personal and professional changes that O underwent after the National Championship. The man who told the blonde, “Let’s go baby” at his last press conference, was not the same man who held his first. I hope he is happy.

The beginning of Ed's demise was letting his ego run Aranda out of town. Every move made from that point on caused his downfall.
if LSU had Aranda for 2020, we start out 3-0 instead of 1-2. Those easy games we dropped early was the difference between a 7-3 season.

This might be downvoted to hell, but Ed pushing Aranda out and making the lazy hires he did was a blessing in disguise for LSU. I know the media and several Tiger fans still think Kelly will shite the bed, but those of us that take every thing into consideration know that he is the type of guy for the massive overhaul this program needs.

I don’t think Aranda’s general demeanor would have been a good fit as the HC for LSU. He would have to deal with a fan base (and influential donors) who go apoplectic after each and every loss. One that holds the HC as the biggest celebrity in the state. One that scrutinizes every action (or inaction). I don’t think Aranda loves that attention.

At Baylor the expectations are lower and he’s not the most recognized person in the stay of Texas. He can live a bit more of a quiet life in Waco.

Good coach. Good DC. Just maybe not the guy who wants the lifestyle of being the face of an SEC power

Aranda's connections were responsible not Orgeron's. Ed didn't find him, Aranda did.

Everything we know about the discipline and professionalism running LSU in 2019 relates to Aranda (and Burrow) and all of that evaporated overnight when Orgeron was left without adult supervision from Aranda.

That's the brutal truth. I would sugarcoat it if Ed didn't run around trying to frick pregnant women, trying to beat up boosters in fishing camps, didn't disparage the defense Aranda ran, and generally acted like an adult instead of a person who was too dumb and too violent to be on the Jersey Shore.

Can't hire everyone. Aranda is legit and I'll be rooting for him. Kelly is probably more suited to rebuild the mess O left though.

I did too. I love the Kelly hire and it’s easier the safer bet.

But something tells me Aranda is going to build a great program somewhere, it may be Baylor.

He was asst. H.C. when Miles was fired, is Joe Alleva did the right thing and give him the interim job we would be in a lot better shape now.

Thanks Joe
