What do you have to lose... just mortgage your house on that bet.

Of course when they inevitably make their disappointing hire they'll say they were joking and never believed the Saban thing...but look at them...they actually think Saban would even entertain a return to Corndog U at 74. ??

do i think he will come....frick no. not even close

do i think we would be foolish not to call and make an outlandish offer....yea we would be dumb AF to not do that.

Those are surprising odds is the point. No way I’m touching that.

He said it was hard to get the assistant coaches he wanted because they were turning him down. They weren't coming due to his age and not wanted to be forced to essentially work year to year worrying about him retiring. Thats why he had to do more hands on coaching his last year and he said it was especially tough and he said he was killing himself

from google

Nick Saban has stated that his last year at Alabama was "difficult for me from a health standpoint," though he clarified he had no specific illness and that the difficulty stemmed from the immense pressure of the job. He also cited the significant transitions, including a coaching change and player movement from the transfer portal, as reasons the season was so tough. He felt that he could not lead the program in the way required and that the uncertainty made it hard to maintain the team's focus.

here is a link to an article where he said he felt like he was killing himself his last year

I think the chances are zero that Saban is interested in returning to coaching. LSU fans are delusional in their fantasizing about "Saban to the rescue." Someone mentioned an offer of $25,000,000 for four years. Forget it; Nick doesn't need any more money.

What you mean is that it is possible, but unlikely, and used as leverage for contracts.

Do I get infinite odds on it not happening? I bet 0 and you give me everything? That's what 0% means.

1s and 0s. And even that doesn't always work.

LSU's next head football coach will be Kiffin or Saban.

Saban is too old. LSU needs a HC to sustain success for longer than 3 years.

Anybody entertaining the thought of paying a college coach 25 mil a year should be fired immediately.

While it would be the story of the year and shock to the college football world, the reality is IF Coach Saban came back to LSU for 4-5 years he would be very lucky to win one championship and probably would not.

The advantages he had at Alabama are no longer possible in the new reality.

I'd love to see it, but best case scenario would be he energizes the program, makes the playoffs in his second year and trains his hand-picked successor to build on his foundation.

But it would be fun to watch and a shot in the arm the program and university needs.

This is the worst argument for me. Dude was 12-2 and semifinals less than 2 years ago.

Besides hypothesizing, give some facts or reasoning.

Older =/= incapable.

Most of his past assistants are making seven figures as head coaches now. He has an eye for talent and the ability to get people around him to preform above their ceilings. Anyone would want him around their program.

Cool, but what happens if Saban does take the gig?

Who really has more to lose here?

I get what your saying, my point was that it doesn't matter what the possibility is at all, as soon as vegas saw that people wanted Saban, they put odds on it. Easy way to make money.
