I’d take the LSU job
More money, better fishing and hunting, better food, and if I could turn around the Defense like aranda did I’d be set for a HC gig.
ND if I wanted an easier time as DC. Still a prestigious college and on TV a lot but not in the best conference and the path to the CFP goes thru Clemson, Miami (they coming), UNC (Mack has that program on the rise) which is easier than LSU path

Lol this board is fickell , pun intended, I said same thing few hours ago got some big time downvotes and comments sucked. As I said big time contract good numbers for both parties I was told. Discussing with family , Fickell I would guess and players at Cinn. . I hope Freeman thinks it out , hate when somebody says yes and then year later hates situation.

You don’t have to spell that like you say it, èse. Only one “o” in “loser”. ;)

JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION...which job would you take to advance your career, and which job would have a good chance to set your career back?
We already have the answer, a-hole.
Would you rather the Baylor job or the Vandy job?
Now kindly frick off back to the sec rant.

If I am a young and brilliant up and coming DC I absolutely take the opportunity to coach at LSU and build my brand.
I also welcome the challenge.
He's also in a great position because LSU can do no worse defensively than they did this year. Pretty much everybody is returning. So any improvement is going to be a positive. They are talented enough to compete with anyone.
I believe even if he came here and was average he could still get that Cincy job any time it opens up.. but if he comes to LSU and has success he could end up landing a big time university. If things ever went south with O, he would have the inside track to the job.

I think Freeman is actually going to be a better recruiter then Aranda.. personable guy with NFL experience and played at Ohio State. He’s a really sharp guy but comes off more outgoing then Aranda

If Freeman and Fickell are close friends, maybe he wants to resign in person rather than over the phone out of respect.

Fickell could very easily tell him to stick it out at Cincy and the job will be his and he wont have to move his family.
Wouldn’t it make sense that they’ve already discussed this before he even started the interviewing process?
I mean, I thought it was already known that he is the next HC at Cincy as soon as Fickell leaves. To me it seems the only conversation would be to better understand how much longer Fickell thinks he’ll be at Cincy or if it would be more advantageous to go to a place like LSU, which may propel Freeman to a P5 job quicker and thus bypassing even the need to be HC at Cincy.

Gonna keep this simple so that even you can understand:
TAKE THE LSU DC JOB OVER ND EVERY DAY & TWICE ON SUNDAY.
I hear your sister calling, now get back to bed!

The bigger question I have is where is Fickell going to end up? OSU isn't opening up Day shut down going to nfl and I never saw him as nfl type. Fickell already turned down Mich St. if Harbaugh sign extension with Michigan what is legitamelty left in the Midwest for Fickell to take over that's a top tier job?

HOLY BIASM BATMAN.
Aranda left Wiscy for LSU, worked under O for several seasons and got a nice HC job.
Brady worked under O for one season and got an NFL OC job.. looking at a HC job..
It is much more likely for a great coach to grow their brand at LSU.
The examples you tried to show are mostly mediocre coaches..
If anything, Freeman is a lot like Aranda to me.
And Grimes came to LSU as an OL coach and was able to get an OC gig.

There was a gentleman’s agreement in place.
and then Jimbo wanted a 10 year deal correct?
I think that ticked off LSU and the rest is history

Admins do your job and ban this Jack Nola a-hole from this board. Hell I’ve been banned from the recruiting board since the 5 for 5 incident. Surely this Bama a-hole from Louisiana shouldn’t be given free reign to bash LSU or potential coaching hires on our site !!!!

LSU made a great offer. He has either discussed it or will discuss it with Luke Fickell, whom he trusts a great deal. I had one source told me that he’s be shocked if he’s not the DC. And another one tell me the same thing along the lines of what he told me before the Peetz hire. If Freeman isn’t the DC at LSU it’s because Fickell talked him out of it.
No offense, but if the coach of Cincinnati can convince his DC not to take a job at LSU then they didn't make a great offer.

Oh look, another Bama fan coming into this thread with half-arse knowledge about the close relationship between Fickell and Freeman.

How many years in a row now have you lied on this board about having sources?

Was told our side was very confident to the point the only thing that could stop it is a few long shot P5 head coaching gigs, some of which aren’t necessarily open.
Both people I spoke to said they expect him to be named next week, but nothing was signed.
