I know for a FACT that Aranda is higher on the list.

He might be according to your info but... My guy says if it came to it, Napier would get the job before Aranda. That could change. I know ppl at Dunham and his kids loved it there. His wife has numerous friends in Baton Rouge. His family loved it here. As of 12:30 today tho, Napier would get the job first. Napier is highly, highly respected in the coaching world. If Mullen loses to FSU, Napier might be at Florida.

I'm not denying you were told that, nor am I denying your friend was told that. All I'm saying is that I was told something different. I really don't know WTH to believe at this juncture. We're all being told something different, which could quite possibly turn out to be a good thing. I still trust SW. He can't miss. This is arguably the most important hire in the history of the program, while considering it's current state and being on the eve of a major conference expansion.

Hopefully it does not come to any of that.

Napier would be a great hire. Would be very happy with this. Surprised that so many are negative on this??

If he wasn’t at Lafayette, more people would be on him, myself included. Sad, but true

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "negative" thing. Most here agree that Napier is a great coach, but he is absolutely the most unproven when speaking of a job at a major SEC program. It's more of a roll of the dice with Napier than most other candidates being mentioned. Sure, it's a high upside, but there's also a higher chance of crapping out.

Aranda fans don't wont to hear this, but LSU has more upside with Napier. Aranda would be a 9-3 type coach, which is what any average coach should achieve at LSU.

I wouldn’t hate it. Seen a few clips of him with his team, guy has a pulse and that’s more than we have now. Lol

Napier would get 3 yrs to get us in playoff if he's not goodbye.

Same timeline as any coach we get.

I think Napier would do fine but we could have spared the song and dance already chasing after white whales
